Order Taking: Girls can use an order card
to collect orders then deliver!
Direct: Girls can go door-to-door, participate
in booth sales, and join in troop or group walkabouts to mentor and encourage one another!
Digital: Girls may send text messages and emails inviting friends and family to order products online using the UNIFY online sales program.
Please note: For safety purposes, online marketing activities, especially those conducted through social media platforms, should always be done through accounts set to “private”.
Friends and family of a girl participating in the Fall Program must not market or share a girl’s contact information, sales links, or sales information on public-facing online sites.
Girl Scouts participating in the Girl Scout Fall Product Program can give back to their community through virtual Care to Share. In 2017 Orange County Girl Scouts collected 1,972 nut units and magazine vouchers for donation to the U.S. Military and local food banks!
Parents guide their daughters when making
individual learning and sales goals. Parents determine the number of products to order and are responsible for payment of all products received.
Parents are responsible for all money
collected from customers.
Troops set group goals and order products to
meet their goals. Parents are asked to respect the troop goals when making decisions about how many products they will be responsible for selling.
Parents should obtain signed receipts for all products received and for all money
submitted to troop.
Troops may not set quotas for individual girls.
Troops may not require payment from parents
in advance.
Nuts and Candies See order card for description, pricing, and pictures of products or visit

Food products are not returnable or exchangeable unless damaged
Virtual Care to Share
Virtual Care to Share program highlights:
Care to Share purchases are tax deductible! Girls should print out and provide Care to Share receipts for every customer. Go to GSCookiesEtc.org/fallproduct (Resources & Forms page).
Girls or Troops will NOT receive any virtual Care to Share product. The Council will facilitate the delivery.
Virtual Care to Share magazine vouchers or nuts
can be ordered online.
Girls who sell 8+ virtual Care to Share items earn the Care to Share patch and credit towards rewards.
Please note: Some Troops may choose to participate in their own Care to Share donation. Your Troop will explain the organization who will receive the donation, how to participate and if the Troop will purchase a patch for the girls.
Care to Share receipts are found on GSCookiesETC.org/fallproduct/forms.
As she participates, the Girl Scout Fall Product Program teaches your Girl Scout the “5 Skills” that will help her grow into a leader and prepare her for the future. Here are things you can do together to help her succeed:
1. Goal Setting—empowering her to define what she wants and to create a plan to succeed
Role-play with her. Ask how her troop will use the money earned so she can share it when asked by
customers.
Help your daughter set goals, view rewards & send emails using UNIFY.
2. Decision Making—teaching her critical thinking and problem solving skills
Help her decide if she wants the prizes or OC Bucks at each girl reward level.
Let her decide how to sell: online, door-to-door with nuts in hand and/or with order card to take orders.
3. Money Management—mastering financial literacy skills
Let her add up orders and make change.
Girls and parents may accept credit cards using a smart phone device. Parent is responsible for any
fees and fees may not be passed onto the consumer.
Have her mark her calendar and remind you to turn in money to the troop by the due dates.
4. People Skills—communicating and understanding customers
Help your daughter ask friends and family for support.
Help her arrange to take orders at your workplace or place of worship.
Review the Internet Safety Pledge located on the Resources & Forms page at
www.GSCookiesETC.org/fallproduct/forms/ with your daughter.
If she wants to do booth sales with you, complete online Booth Sale training and help out at booth
sales.
5. Business Ethics (Honest and Fair)—reinforcing the positive values she is developing as a Girl
Scout
Help her mark her calendar for September 22. This is the day she can start to take orders.
Girls may text and email family and friends. Customers pay online only through the UNIFY online sales
program. Girls do NOT sell on eBay or Craigslist.
Accompany her while selling door-to-door in residential areas. Remember permission is needed from
Service Unit to sell anywhere else. See Booth Sales Guidelines at GScookiesEtc.org/fallproduct/forms/
Wear your Girl Scout uniform and pins when selling.
Tell customers how your troop will use the troop proceeds.
Encourage customers to support our Care to Share donation program.
Use UNIFY online sales program to email family, friends, and former customers (www.GSCookiesETC.org/fallproduct).
Use the Spread the Word Business Cards when going door to door and at booth sales.
Create a “nut mobile” (wagon, cooler on wheels, backpack or large tote bag) for door-to-door sales.
Set up a nut stand in front of an OC residence. Nut stands are permitted on personal property (not business) if it is within Orange County and if the city and/or homeowners association permits.
Make a poster to show customers your goals and how your troop will use troop proceeds.

Setting up a booth display in any location other than in front of an Orange County residence is considered a booth sale and is only allowed during the booth sale period. All booth sales must be arranged through the
Booth Sale Coordinator to ensure that all permissions and insurance requirements are met.
All adults participating in booth sales must complete an online Booth Sale training, even for parent/daughter booth sales. Training is available at www.GSCookiesETC.org/fallproduct.
