Introduction “I don’t really understand myself, for I want do do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do
what I hate.” – Romans 7:15 The plan of God is for every believer to know that
they are “wonderfully” made (Psalms 139:14) with gifts that are purposed to glorify Him. These natural and supernatural gifts are a part of our God-given personality and motivates our behavior and our actions. Every believer must learn how to operate within their gift in the way that God purposed it and in harmony with the Body of Christ. This is accomplished through personal and spiritual development.
Victorious Christian Living involves personal growth that will enable you to:
• Examine yourself through the Word of God
• Sharpen your focus on God’s Will and on serving Him
• Development of an obedient attitude
• Development of a deeper walk with the Lord

Everyone is a blend or combination of the four basic personality types: D,I,S,C ***Important to note that no type is better than the other because no personality is considered as a bad personality***
Behavioral Blend Example: I/D: Inspirational Doers • “Super Salesperson…. Love large groups. Impressive and can easily
influence people to do things. They need a lot of recognition. Exaggerates and often talks too much….”
• Controlling Your I/D Behavioral Blend: (example) • Guard the power of your words – James 3:6 • Don’t be like those who “by fair words and good speeches – deceive,”
– Romans 16:18
Combining Personalities with Spiritual Gifts
" The identification of a personality type with one’s most obvious Spiritual Gift(s) provides insight into how an individual will perform in a particular role.
" Example: " “D” Type Personalities with Gift of Hospitality
" Christians who are demanding, but always volunteering their homes for meetings…active/task-oriented individuals…driven and determined to make their home a blessing to others…tend to be controlling, but willing to be taken advantage of when it comes to hospitality. They love to plan meetings and entertain people in their homes, but are always in charge.

Involvement/Personality Perspective
To gain insight into how a personality type can become involved in ministry, one must:
1. Give God your “giftedness” to use for His glory.
2. Gain understanding of how to interpret your personality type and spiritual giftedness.
3. Look for opportunities for ministry to use your “giftedness”
1. Search the Scriptures for insights on how God can use you.
2. Ask your minister or a mature Christian friend to guide you.
4. Get involved in a ministry as soon as possible.
5. Pray God will control you and make you “all things to all men.”
Example:
“I” Behavior (Active/People Oriented)
Abilities: Communicate, inspire, influence, make friends, optimism, enthusiasm
Opportunities: Give public testimony, drama, social committee, greeter, encourager, lead discussion groups, and visitation
Warning: You naturally outshine others. Don’t serve purely through your “personality.” Also, pride and sinful lusts will destroy your testimony.
Reward: God designed you to shine for Him. When you allow Him to shine through you, He will use you in greater ways than you ever imagined.
Prayer: “Dear God, keep me humble to do your will, not mine. Help me give you an dthose who praise me the credit for all You have done.”

“Getting In Where You Fit
In” Many members become excited about getting involved in ministry. Sometimes the ministry workers struggle because they are performing in a role where they are not suited. Their desire is to work in the ministry to be of assistance however they may not be in a position that fits their gift. This can create internal and external conflict for the individual and the ministry. Finding the right position based on personality type and spiritual gift is essential to effective church ministry in addition to personal and spiritual growth.
