Whether a trip up the mountain with lunch at the top, a leisurely family hike or a challenging sports activity: there is something for everyone along the 80 km of hiking paths in the Corvatsch-Furtschellas region.

Eternal ice and sparkling lakes The summer sports region nestles amidst spectacular panoramic scenery. Towering up on one side is the mighty Bernina massif, with the snow-capped ice giants, the Piz Bernina and Piz Roseg, and the

Corvatsch Glacier. On the other side, the view extends over the summery mountain peaks and the glittering lake-strewn land- scape of the Upper Engadin.

Dining and barbecuingSix mountain restaurants serving local specialities ensure that guests do not go hungry. There are also two well-equipped barbecue sites for hikers who prefer to cook the natural way.

The highest summit station in the eastern Alps has plenty to offer in summer, too: the Corvatsch spoils visitors with marvellous panoramic views, numerous sports possibilities and mouth-watering culinary treats.

HIKING WITH TASTY HIGHLIGHTS

The Via Gastronomica offers a variety of “courses”. You can choose your own route from the Furtschellas summit station down to the Fex valley, stopping at three restaurants along the way.

The culinary trail begins at the La Chüdera mountain restaurant. From here, it leads into the Val Fex and then, depending on the chosen route, either via a glacial lake and the mountain peak of the Piz Chüern or via Marmoré directly down to the Pensiun Crasta.

Hiking and feasting The views en route change from the lakes to the flower-strewn Alpine meadows and the dreamy Fex valley. A delicious main course

awaits you at the Pensiun Crasta. From here, you continue to Platta, the lowest hamlet in the Val Fex, where you can tuck into a home- made dessert at the charming Pensiun Chesa Pool.

A descent rich in vistasThe last leg involves a 30-minute hike along the ruggedly romantic gorge path down to Sils. If you have had enough of walking, you can also cover the stretch from Platta to Sils in a horse-drawn carriage.
