Dan Sathiaraj, Assistant Professor, B S Abdur Rahman University, Chennai Persons met Significant learning: We were guided to two out of seven shops in the factory. In the Shop 1 we were shown how the different parts of the vehicle ( in this case, a six wheel load carrying truck). The parts include Prop shaft, Break drums, Oil Tanker, Air compressor, Rear suspension, Engine, Tyres, Exhaust/Silencer fuel system, Cab and body, Bumpers, etc. Hydraulic system was used to lift the parts and the main body was moving on a conveyor belt. In Shop 2, we saw the manufacture break drums, six stroke cylinder, crank shaft, cam shaft, different type of gears, piston rings, connecting rods, etc. Here the heavy machinery was used at large. After that we saw the assembly of the diesel engine which takes place in 26 steps. Participating Students Total no of students: 30 No of colleges:4
