【2012 Show Report】 Cambodia Int’l Machinery Industry Fair (CIMIF2013) and Cambodia Int’l Textile & Garment Industrial Exhibition (CTG2013) were hosted in Phnom Penh’s Diamond Island from August 8 to 11 again, attended by 240 companies from 16 countries with total 430 booths, which was 15% bigger in scale than last year.

The shows were organized by Yorkers Trade & Marketing Service Co., Ltd., Hong Kong, co-organized and supported by Trade Promotion Department of Ministry of Commerce, Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC), and Garment Manufacturers Association in Cambodia (GMAC).

The profile of exhibiting equipments contained widely from varies sectors, such as: (1) Textile & Garment (2) Agriculture (3) Fabrics & Accessories (4) Plastics & Rubber (5) Printing & Packaging (6) Food Processing (7) Metalworking & Automation (8) Tools & Hardware (9) Auto Parts & Accessories.

Speaking at the fair opening ceremony, H.E. Cham Prasidh, Minister of Commerce said Cambodia needs to diversify its economic activities and promote exports to achieve a sustainable high economic growth and higher value-added products, and the exhibition is no doubt the ideal and useful platform for Cambodian traders and businessmen. He also

emphasized that “industrialization” has become an essential support for Cambodia’s economy growth. The government has aggressively improved the business environment and hopes to attract more foreign investment.

There were totally 9,320 trade visitors during the 4-day event, and most of them were impressed by the professional atmosphere and the variety of industrial machines displaying from world renowned companies. It was also a good chance for them to upgrade old equipments, seek co-operations, and discover investment opportunities.

Although the number of visitors slightly decreased due to some post-election demonstrations & rumors, most of the exhibitors were still satisfied and confident with the outcome and feedback from the exhibition, nearly 80% of them confirmed to participate again next year.

After successful three editions, CIMIF and CTG have drawn more public attention not only in Cambodia but also ASEAN market. CIMIF and CTG will be held again from August 15 to 18, 2014 at Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Center, again it will definitely be the industrial exhibition that you can’t miss to attend.
