Workflow of the practical course
Each group has to do 4 experiments.
Inform yourself about:
your group the dates of the experiments you have to do get the description of the experiments in advance.

Workflow of the practical course
The practical course begins and ends at the given times! Auxiliary dates only in exceptional cases! (e.g. due to
illness certificate necessary! ) The purpose, the aim, and the basics will be discussed at
the start of the experiment. Sufficient knowledge is a requirement for the participation in the lab course!
Repeated unprepared appearance to the lab course may lead to exclusion from the lab course!

Workflow of the practical course
• Prepare the measuring report in advance at home
• Never start with an experiment, before you received the introduction to the experiment
• The measuring report is attested (Vortestat), if the experiment is finished and your place is cleaned up. – This is not a guarantee that your data are correct! – You are responsible for your measurements!

Protocols• Observe the deadlines for the protocols: One
week after the practical course started, until 16:00 o'clock.
• Evaluation: 0 to 3 Points in steps of 0,5 P. One week after delivery you can look into the evaluated protocols.
• You can look at your protocols during one of the practical classes (Mon at 8:15 , or Tue at 11:45, or Wed at 11:45)
• Laboratory course is completed when four protocols are attested.

Protocols• Cover sheet• Task/Objective• Sketch of the experiment / parts list• Preparation, answers to the list of questions• measurement report • Evaluation (calculation, results, diagrams)• Discussion / error analysis
Detailed information about the preferred structure and content of the protocols can be found under:

General
Pay attention to the laboratory order. Don‘t eat, drink, smoke or use your cellular phone in
the laboratory Escape routes have to be kept free at all times. Know the locations and operating procedures of all
safety equipment including: first aid kit(s), fire extinguisher, emergency stop switch, emergency shower, eye bath, telephone, escape routes, fire blankets.
Report accidents immediately. Never start with an experiment, before you got the
introduction to the experiment. Please ask if there are questions during the experiment.

Safety Instruction FB 0512
Special protective clothing is generally not necessary in physics/measuring technique laboratory. Nevertheless pay attention to appropriate clothes.

Handling Glassware
Always use clean and intact glassware Clean the glassware after usage and return it to
its place Breakage of glass has to be announced Don‘t put broken glasses into the trash bin Some glassware may become very hot during the
experiment. > Don‘t burn yourself!
FachhochschuleBonn-Rhein-Sieg
Safety Instruction FB 0514
Handling of Electrical Devices Always use intact cables and devices Consult the laboratory personnel before
switching on any devices During all changes in the experimental
setup the current has to be switched off You should never pull on cables but always
on plugs Avoid open contacts Some electrical devices may become very
hot. > Don‘t burn yourself!

Safety Instruction FB 0515
Handling of Lasers
Never look into the laser beam Don‘t introduce reflective material into the optical
path of the laser (Wristwatch, rings, bracelet,...) The setup has to be mounted in a stable position The optical way of the laser may not run at eye
level

Treatment of burns
cool with flowing water / with cold clothes inform laboratory personnel immediately
FachhochschuleBonn-Rhein-Sieg
Safety Instruction FB 0517Instructions for
accidents with electrical current
Interrupt the circuit immediately Push Emergency Stop If the emergency stop of the circuit is not possible, don‘t pull the injured people with bare
hands! The victim might be energized.
Apnea > mouth-to-mouth breathing
Cardiac arrest >mouth-to-mouth breathing and chest compressions
emergency call no apnea / circulatory stop >recovery position
inform laboratory personnel immediately
