When the hens escape the henhouse they can be found dancing around Grandma’s ower garden looking for bits of stray seed. It’s time for an afternoon snack!

Cutting DirectionsNote: To make cutting the ribbon stripe pieces easier and more accurate, we have provided templates with centering lines. Position templates with the line in the exact center of the stripe to determine cutting position of the lengthwise stripe strips. Border measurements are given in the exact lengths required, including 4" seam allowances. WOF designates the width of fabric from selvedge to selvedge (approximately 42" wide).

Fabric A Cut (4) strips 62" x 462" on the length of the fabric

Fabric B Cut (4) strips 42" x 362" along the length of the fabric with a stripe motif centered in each strip

Fabric C Cut (8) squares 4w" x 4w", fussy cut with chicken motif centered on the diagonal of each square

Fabric D Cut (10) squares 58" x 58" and cut in half once diagonally to make triangles

Cut (16) center frame pieces using template

Fabric E Cut (32) triangles with dashed line on template aligned with center of larger stripe motif

Cut (20) center frame pieces with dashed line on template aligned with center of larger stripe motif

Fabric F Cut (8) squares 58" x 58" and cut in half once diagonally to make triangles

Cut (4) squares 42" x 42"

Fabric G Cut (5) strips 12" x WOF, pieced together to make the following: 2 borders 12" x 442" and 2 borders 12" x 462"

Cut (6) strips 22" x WOF for binding

Fabric H Cut squares (20) 3f" x 3f" and cut in half once diagonally to make triangles

Fabric I Cut (10) squares 3f" x 3f" and cut in half once diagonally to make triangles

Fabric J Cut (8) squares 3f" x 3f" and cut in half once diagonally to make triangles

Backing Cut (2) panels 42" x 66" and piece to t quilt top with 4" overlap on all sides.
