The Free Flow Sensor and FlowTime

Fabdec FlowTime systems are based on the Free Flow sensor technology from SCR.

Unlike most conventional systems using a ‘fill and tip’ mechanism, Free Flow uses infra-red technology which is highly reliable and totally maintenance-free.

Using the Free Flow sensor Fabdec can offer a range of solutions, from a simple low cost parlour upgrade to a full Milking and Herd Management System.

Each module can be installed and operated independently to allow a gradual and structured approach to the technical upgrade of any farm.

When used in conjunction with the FlowTime Pulsator the system is able to adjust the pulsation rate to massage and stimulate the teat. It can extend the milking phase during peak flow, therefore reducing milking time by up to 20%.

Options for end of milking include a pulsation arrest feature to prevent over-milking and a fully adjustable cluster removal feature.

    FlowTime Monitor

    FlowTime Pulsation Arrest

An accurate milk metering display that can be retro-fitted to any existing parlour. This is the ideal solution for farmers who just want milk yield data displayed within the parlour.

This is the perfect upgrade for a parlour that has had a pulsation update and now requires milk metering and automatic cup removal.

Milk metering plus integrated cow controlled pulsation. When the cow finishes milking, the pulsation arrest mode closes all 4 liners which holds the cluster on the teats and indicates end of milking. The operator removes the cluster in his own time.

A complete Milking Point controller with an ACR option. Fine parameter adjustment makes this easy to retro-fit onto any existing parlour. FlowTime Pulse incorporates the same modular components as FlowTime with the addition of a double valve module.

    DataFlowTM II

    Complete Cow Management

DataFlowTM II integrates all of the milking, fertility and cow welfare technologies into one powerful management tool. It provides reports, graphs, task lists and cow history. It also supports sort-gates, individual feeding and in-parlour message boards.

DataFlow collects all the information from the H-Tag (activity), HR-Tag (rumination), milk metering and milk conductivity together with all data input from the farmer such as insemination, treatment and calving.

    This data provides reports on:

    1. Individual cow health and history 2. Herd health and history

    Milking Operator interface:

    • Sees only exact data required for milking pit operation.

    • Data on sick or underproducing cows• Information can be entered from pit

    Herd Manager interface:

    • Customizable with reports & graphs• Data accessible from distance,

    including home and mobile phone

    • Accurate and easy-to-use individual cow data on: Activity, Milk Yield, Rumination, Conductivity.

    • Simple, efficient milking pit operation reduces milking time and operator training needs.

    • Early detection of herd health issues or metabolic disorders.

    • Increased submission rates and low activity monitoring.

    • Feed rations can be tailored to rumen activity.

    • Comparison of individual and whole herd data.

It can be fitted as a complete system within an existing parlour. Alternatively it can be used to update an existing ACR system. It is compatible with all parlour systems.

Fabdec’s Easi-WASH provides a thorough wash of the entire milkline. The easy-to-use system electronically monitors time and temperature at all stages. It can be adjusted to suit any size and type of parlour.

    • Precise dosing of dairy chemicals and disinfectants minimises wastage

    • Error messages warn operator of potential problems to allow action before they become an issue

    • Large bore hot/cold water solenoids minimise temperature losses at the wash trough to clean the plant efficiently and economically

    • Optional limit switches prevent contamination of the bulk milk with wash water

    • Wash sequences are fully programmable and can be easily adjusted by the user

    • Fully adjustable cluster removal delays

    • Pulsation control to match existing pulsation ratio

Milking systems can be a breeding ground for bacteria that cause udder health problems as during milking the cluster is moved from cow to cow, thus allowing contagious bacteria to be spread among the herd.

Cluster Purge Plus breaks this chain and disinfects every cluster safely after every cow.

    Swingover parlour

    Doubled up parlour

    Pre-installed manifold

    Automatic Cluster Cleaning System

Universal• Fits all types of milking systems: swingover, doubled up and rotary parlours

    • Stand alone - no direct interference with existing milking equipment

    • No welding of brackets to clusters

Flexible• Easily adjustable programme control to suit system requirements

    • Fully adjustable dosing unit for disinfectant solution

Simple & Safe• Cluster Purge Plus: Pre- and post-rinse with fresh water

    • No cutting or inserts into liners that may change milking characteristics

    • Adds no extra height or weight to the cluster

    • Sanitises the long milk tube, the claw and the liners completely and thoroughly

    • Compressed air shut-off valves that isolate the milk completely during the purge process, independent from vacuum fluctuation

    • Safety valve stops the water supply if the compressed air supply fails

    • Final air purge to remove all residues

    • Frost purge to protect the system from freezing

    • Manifold station factory-fitted on a stainless steel bracket

Options• Boost switch for an extra flush

    Milking continues…

How it worksStep 1 – After cluster removal and milk sweep the long milk tube is shut by the compressed air shut-off valve.

Step 2 Plus – Firstly, the long milk tube and the cluster are pre-rinsed with fresh water. The main rinse is done with disinfectant solution and the post-rinse with fresh water again. Each flush is followed by a shot of compressed air for an aggressive purge.

Step 2 Classic - Firstly, disinfectant and water are mixed and flushed through the long milk tube and the cluster. This is followed by a shot of compressed air to provide an aggressive purge. The process is repeated once or twice depending on the selection.

Step 3 – A final blast of compressed air removes any residual water from the cluster, ready for the next milking.

Please note: Above illustration is for a Cluster Purge Plus system. It shows the option of the third line for fresh water.

    Heatime® Systems

    Heatime® Sort-Gates

    Cow Health and Herd Management

Heatime systems are used to monitor cow fertility, rumination and other health issues. The cow collar is activated using an ‘LD’ antenna (long distance) and so is also suitable for animals kept outdoors.

All systems fully integrate with Fabdec’s milking solutions and sort-gates.

These can be integrated within each Heatime system.

Cows with high or low activity can be automatically separated off. The user can override the automatic selection by entering the cow number and dictate if the cow is to be selected or not.

Cows can also be selected for sorting by the operator during milking.

Heatime H LD Heatime HR LD Heatime Pro

The Heatime H LD system measures the movement intensity of each cow to monitor their activity.

It is based on a long range wireless Base Unit (BU) that transmits the information from the tags to the system terminal from wherever the cows are.

The tag transmits data every 20 minutes at a distance of up to 1 square mile.

The Heatime HR LD system provides a complete reproduction and health monitoring solution.

Using the LD technology it comprises robust, multi-functional neck tags with movement sensor and rumination recorder to enable early detection of health, nutrition and wellbeing issues.

The tag transmits data every 20 minutes at a distance of up to 1 square mile.

Heatime Pro is a powerful PC-based cow monitoring solution that provides a real-time tool for heat, health and nutrition management.

It creates an advanced, centralized solution for bigger herds based on unique data and actionable cow intelligence information.

The system supports both ‘H’ and ‘HR’ neck tag versions.

    • Automatic – Integrates with Heatime stand-alone system

    • Highly accurate sorting system

    • Optional sorting to left or right

    • Sturdy, robust and cow-friendly

    • Various ID options available

    • Reduces labour costs
