Rich in historical and ethnic detail, Fiddler on the Roof has touched audiences around the world with its humor, warmth and honesty. The universal theme of tradition cuts across barriers of race, class, nationality and religion, leaving audiences crying tears of laughter, joy and sadness. Fiddler on the Roof features songs loved the world over: "Sunrise, Sunset," "If I Were a Rich Man" and "Matchmaker," to name a few. This amazing show with book by Joseph Stein, music by Jerry Bock and the lyrics of Sheldon Harnick, based on the stories of Sholem Aleichem, has graced the stages of towns large and small for decades. This will be the second time for Fiddler on the Roof to be produced at FFP, as it was originally produced in 1979. Director Aeryn Williams, choreographer Tara Laciano and musical director Zach Thomas have assembled the cast and rehearsals have begun. Vickie Lopez and Samantha Henry, co-producers are hard at work assembling and assisting the crews who are already busy behind the scenes. The people of Anatevka are Tevye (Marty Williams), his wife Golde (Julie Lane) and their daughters; Tzeitel (Devon Riddle), Hodel (Dawn Rose), Chava (Amy Cox), Shprintze (Lily Rutledge) and Bielke (Kennedy Garmong). The three oldest daughters wonder if the matchmaker, Yente (Sandra Kruger), will ever find them the men of their dreams. Also living in Anatevka are Motel, the tailor (Kyle Slagley), Perchik, a student (Ryan Parker), Fyedka, a Christian man (Jeffery Opperman) and Lazar Wolf, the (Continued on page 2) Board Members Needed Interested in being part of the backbone of FFP? Fort Findlay Playhouse lost a long-time player on February 2 when Nancy Jo Brooks Runta (75) passed away following a battle with melanoma a recent stroke and hydrocephalus

Nancy began her career at the playhouse in 1963 during the run of Light Up the Sky working on costumes Nancy was involved with the playhouse for 44 years her last being A Night of Old Time Radio in 2007

Nancy didnrsquot come alone to FFP she brought her husband Chuck who also worked on Light Up the Sky and worked back stage on several shows He worked mainly with set construction and dressing as well as some photography His last show at FFP was 84 Charing Cross Road in 1990 Nancy

received the Annual Recognition Award in 1971 and was the special presenter when Chuck received the award in 1991

near family for help and support so we moved to El Cajon California to be near our daughter and her family Life is different here but it is so nice to be near family It will take time to adjust but I am flexiblerdquo

Nancy was a friend and mentor to many people Nancy herself said in her blog after having lost a close friend unexpectedly ldquocall a friend today and tell them how much they mean to yourdquo Nancyrsquos daughter Karen said it best on a Facebook post ldquoIn the wake of having lost my mother I have received so many notes and kind words that express how she affected peoples lives I dont think she understood at all how much she meant to people In her memory I would like to request that each of you look into your heart to see who were your mentors who changed your life for the better and WRITE TO THEM now while they are still

alive and let them know how much they meant how they changed the world or at least your world just a little bitrdquo

Nancy didnrsquot come alone to FFP she brought her husband Chuck who also worked on Light Up the Sky and worked back stage on several shows He worked mainly with set construction and dressing as well as some photography His last show at FFP was 84 Charing Cross Road in 1990 Nancy

As Nancy said on her blog Sand Between My Toes ldquochange happens in our lives I have recently had a big change We were living our dream on Sanibel Island Florida then my husband was diagnosed with cognitive disorder dementia It was time to be

near family for help and support so we moved to El Cajon California to be near our daughter and her family Life is different here but it is so nice to be near family It will take time to adjust but I am flexiblerdquo
