Although I needed something to change, I was absolutely not look-ing for a business or anything else in my very busy life. But when Mel told me about the business, she said it was part time and that I could fit it into the nooks and crannies of my life. When I went to meet Mel I remember parking my car next to a white Mercedes and thinking, “This could be a sign!” I was fearful of starting a business, as I had no business knowledge, but I trusted Mel and knew that she was there for me every step of the way. So I started Arbonne in August 2011 and I plugged away at the business. I became more consistent and dedicated to learning. If I could learn to ride a bike, I could learn to do this. We have a very simple system, and I just needed to follow it. As I became a more positive and “can do” person, I began seeing results — and not only in my Arbonne business but also in my acting. I got a job as a presenter in Latvia! And, thanks to Arbonne, I had a business that could still run in the United Kingdom even if I wasn’t in the country. I also worked at the 2012 London Olympics, and on the last night after my shift, I drove straight to our annual training conference — because there was no other place I’d rather be. I love the personal development Arbonne has opened up for me to be able to become a better version of myself.

I remember NVP Emma Sangster stating in her training that once you truly committed to becoming a Region, you could expect a three month journey to get there. I thought, “I can do this. I’m willing to learn how to do this.”

I knew it was possible. I knew also it wasn’t rocket science! All I had to do was share the Arbonne opportunity, show people how to redirect their personal care spending to our amazing products. I realised my role was to help others be successful, and I knew I could do that. Three months later, we went into Region Qualification.

One of the great things in this business is that you get to choose whom you work with, and it is 100% effort based. I am so lucky to get to work with my friends every day! Our team is made up of pretty much every type of person or profession you could imagine: plasterers, teachers, electricians, actors, lawyers, journalists, helicopter engineers, parents, pilots, business owners, both male and female, and of various ages! This business has given choices and financial stability for my family and me.

Thank you to an incredible team. I couldn’t wish to be doing this with a nicer bunch of people, and I cannot wait to hand you out your keys. Thank you also to my uplines and sidelines for your incredible support and training. Thanks to my boyfriend for putting up with me and to my sister for always being there for me. And thank you, Mum, for always believing in me. To NVP Sarah Dunning, thank you for being the pioneer and the proof. Finally, thank you Mel Dean for seeing in me something I couldn’t see in myself.

If it feels right then just do it — everything else you will learn along the way. Your best is yet to come!
