Be aware of upcoming events in the life of our church so you can plug into them!
1. September 12th, we start our second worship service. The Contemporary Service
will continue to be at 9am on Sunday and the Traditional Service will be at
10:30am. We still need greeters and Children and Pre-School workers for both
services! Some of you have said that you will attend one service and work the
other. Thank you!
2. Financial Peace University starts September 14th at the church. This Dave Ram-
say class will be led by Elliot Moore & Marco George. See them to enroll or go to
our website, www.godleystation.org.
3. Small Group studies begin the week of September 12th. We are studying
„Experiencing God‟. Sign up sheets are available in the vestibule that tells you the
leader and location of each group.
4. Kidz Link begins Wednesday, Sept. 15th and will be from 6:30p-8:00p. See
Melissa Blaine or Steve Dees for more information.
5. Our partnership with the new Godley Station School (K-8) has began. We fed the
faculty and staff on their first day and need 15-20 volunteers to help them get
started beginning Monday, Aug 30th. Sign up sheets are available.
God says in the book of James to “Be doers of the word and not hearers only.” There
is a place for you to plug in and serve.

REID AND LAURA COOK
They began attending the Church at God-
ley Station almost three years ago. After
college graduation in Tallahassee, they
moved to Pooler where Reid works as a
charge nurse in the Operating Room at
Memorial and Laura is an English teacher
at South Effingham High School. They
learned about the church through a Google
search, and after visiting several churches
in the area, the Cooks wound up at the
place they'd started.
Since becoming part of the Godley Station
family, Reid and Laura have gotten in-
volved with different ministries including
children's church, home group Bible stud-
ies, and the cleaning crew. Outside of
church and work, Reid spends a lot of time
outdoors hunting and fishing. Laura is
excited to enjoy more leisure time after
finishing her M.Ed. this summer at Geor-
gia Southern. Reid and Laura will cele-
brate their seventh anniversary this De-
cember and have a beagle named Reming-

Small Groups Have You Met???
Nursery/Toddler Coor. NEEDED!
MICKEY AND JENNY MINICK
We have been married 26 years and have two
children. Brett (24) lives in Pooler & works for
his Dad. Anna (21) is a senior at Georgia College
and State University. For the most part our “nest”
is empty so we enjoy spontaneous time together.
We are natives of Savannah and just moved to
Pooler a year ago. We have always belonged to a
large church and were looking for a change.
Baker Woodward invited us to visit The Church
@ Godley Station last summer. From our very
first visit we were welcomed and excited each
Sunday to go back. It was evident to us how
“God wants church to be” was a priority, even if
it broke traditional “rules”.
Together, we have been involved in a small
group on Sunday‟s after church. We have found
it a great way to study God‟s Word and build
relationships. Mickey has gotten involved with
the Kairos Prison Ministry through the GSC and
plans to serve again this fall. I have had the add-
ed privilege to be in another small group with
some precious young ladies who are dear to my
heart! The Church @ Godley Station motto
“Helping People Connect with God and Others”
is profound! Godley Station Church is much
more than a Sunday meeting place. It is about
relationships that extend outside the church doors
and into our daily lives, first with God then oth-
ers. We thank God for sending us to The Church
@ Godley Station.
Autumn Certo has done a great job in the past years as the
Nursery/Toddler Coordinator. She does not plan to continue
serving as the Nursery/Toddler Coordinator. Please if you are
interested in more information on this or in serving in this ca-
pacity let Billie Dees or Autumn Certo know.

Operation Christmas Child
With school starting, now is a good time to purchase some school
supplies for the shoe boxes! Pens, pencils and sharpeners, crayons
or markers, tape, solar calculators, coloring and picture books,
socks, t-shirts, hair clips, combs and brushes, washcloths. 2010
National Collection Week is November 15-22. We will begin
collecting items, shoe boxes and donations in October.
