Extreme Pod and Vod Casting Mallory Kennedy, Ashley Rosenow, Ashley Bratsch, Ashley Witt Introduction: Pod and Vodcasting have become the latest technology craze within schools and offices. It is easy to see why; Pod and Vodcasting are creating fun and different ways to incorporate technology into the lives of all people. Due to their easy accessibility, they have brought immense change to the otherwise traditional class notes, and can be beneficial to many learning styles. With a few simple items, teachers can communicate without difficulty to parents about classroom activities and other school announcements. To begin our research we looked at different credible resources online. We found definitions, ways to use this technology in the classroom, and how Pod and Vodcasting can benefit people of all ages. We also found how to use Pod and Vodcasting and supplies that are needed to use this technology in the classroom. Some needed items are a camera, internet connection, computer, personal device, and an optional headset when listening to a Vodcast. Podcasting is a combination of hardware and software used to distributed audio and video content online. It can provide supplemental explanations and expanded examples to course content. Vodcasting is in essence a video on demand. Using cameras or webcams it is easy to attach a visual aid to online lectures other information presented. There are various benefits to using Pod and Vodcasting. Technology helps teachers bring new ideas into the classroom and gives a positive alternative to lectures. Another advantage to Pod and Vodcasting is keeping communication open between the parents and teachers. By teaching students to use Pod and Vod casting we allow them to become further educated in the world of technology. Although there are many benefits of Pod and Vodcasting, teachers should be cautious when using this form of technology in the classroom. Computer time should be carefully watched to ensure direct student to teacher communication. It is critical to remember how important social interaction is for students; therefore monitoring computer time is recommended. While researching our topic we found different items are needed in order to successfully use Pod and Vodcasting. These materials include a computer, internet Methods: We created a survey in surveymonkey.com and asked a series of questions to test a wide range of people’s knowledge on Pod and Vodcasting. The invitation to take our survey was sent through email and facebook.com to fifty people of different ages. Two weeks later we went to analyze our results and saw that twenty people had completed the survey. The survey tested people on basic knowledge such as how to use Pod and Vodcasting, who can use it, basic definitions, and what is needed to create a Pod or Vodcast. Conclusion: While researching Pod and Vod casting, we learned new things and great benefits of using these advancements in technology. We also discovered many educational uses for Pod and Vod casting as well. We decided to take our research one step further and created a survey to guide us in finding out others knowledge of Pod and Vod casting. Our survey, created in Surveymonkey.com asked fifty people basic knowledge and critical thinking questions about our topic. Pod and Vod casting can be used as a tool to connect all people by the use of technology. Pod casting allows people to create multimedia files and share them by using the internet and then uploading it on a personal device. Vod casting can take it one step further by sending a video or audio file. We sent out fifty invitations to people of all age groups ranging from twelve to sixty. Twenty of those people completed the survey. We were happy with our results due to the variety of answers and the high number of participants who answered correctly. Our survey provided us with an idea of how popular and well known Pod and Vod casting is. In the survey we asked what ages would best benefit from using this in school, and we received many answers. As future educators we have found that Pod and Vod casting can be essential tools for teaching. This advancement in technology has opened many doors in education. Figure one shows that 94% of the people we surveyed have heard about POD casting and understood the definition thoroughly. These results show while one answer was most popular, the responses were varied when asked what items were needed for POD casting. Many people are aware of the idea of POD casting, but do not realize what they need to begin. Introducing more people to the idea of POD casting would greatly increase its popularity. We asked this question in hopes that the majority would realize the potential and the benefits of using technology. Introduction:Pod and Vodcasting have become the latest technology

To begin our research we looked at different credible resources online. We found definitions, ways to use this technology in the classroom, and how Pod and Vodcasting can benefit people of all ages. We also found how to use Pod and Vodcasting and supplies that are needed to use this technology in the classroom. Some needed items are a camera, internet connection, computer, personal device, and an optional headset when listening to a Vodcast.
