Inspired by the winning “ Ares project” of 1924, we interprete the idea of a public courtyard as the core of the Museum. The project supposes emancipation of the main hall and extension gallery towards the backyard. The Art-forum is an interactive space for contemporary art experiences, public events and gatherings. The old fashioned way of passive exhibition is turned to an invitation for active participation.

Honorable mention Motto: Return to backyard Author : Charlotte Lartigue & Epp Jääger Master Student
The proposal with the motto Return to backyard is awarded an Honorable Mention from The Wernstedt Sketch Prize
Foundation.
The inspiring and most accurate analysis of the different screens in succession that includes the existing
museum and internal circulation is of great interest and should be particularly commended as a valid
approach. The jury however again dislikes the unargumented diagonally inclined built structure
positioned between transparent screens. The final presented proposal unfortunately lacks the
conceptual strength easily identified in the model.
