§ A  collaboration  between  SF  State,  SFUSD,  community-­‐based  organizations,  and  local  businesses  

§ Would  be  a  state-­‐of-­‐the-­‐art  research  and  technology  facility  where  high  school  and  college  students  design  and  complete  projects  in  collaboration  with  partners  from  the  local  business  community  

§ High  school  students  would  access  career-­‐enriched  learning  experiences  and  have  the  opportunity  to  earn  dual  enrollment  credits  that  would  accelerate  the  path  into  and  through  college  

§ College  students  would  develop  professional  goals  and  academic  skills  in  a  synergistic,  relevant  setting,  while  participating  in  paid  work  leading  to  quality  and  high-­‐demand  careers  

§ The  STEM  Excelerator  would  serve  SFUSD  high  school  students  from  throughout  the  district

  Review  demographic  projections  and  integrate  data  into  decision  and  timeline  for  any  potential  Shipyard  partnership  

  Refer  Shipyard  opportunity  to  Augmented  Buildings,  Grounds  and  Services  Committee  for  further  discussion  

   Initiate  conversation  with  the  Mayor’s  office  to  obtain  support  of  the  partnership  concept  

  Board  of  Education  to  consider  a  Board  Resolution  to  promote  the  further  analysis  of  facilities,  fiscal  and  programmatic  impact  to  SFUSD
