Senior ManagementOur senior management has 15+ years experience running CMBS businesses and the majority have worked together previously for 10+ years.

Anthony Orso is Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of CCRE, a fully integrated commercial real estate finance company providing loan originations and securitization, loan sales and acquisition services. Since 2010, CCRE has closed over $43 billion worth of loans and become a leading issuer of mortgage-backed securities. CCRE, which was ranked No. 1 Fastest Growing Company by Crain’s New York Business in 2014, operates in over 14 locations nationwide with more than 300 employees.

Previously, Mr. Orso was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse and Co-Head of the Credit Suisse Real Estate Direct Group where he was responsible for over $100 billion in North American real estate loan origination and over $30 billion of high yield real estate debt and equity distribution. Mr. Orso oversaw the expansion of the business in the U.S., Mexico, Latin America, the Caribbean, and the Middle East, with offices in Dubai and Mexico City.

Mr. Orso has also held senior-level real estate positions at APC Realty Advisors, Chemical Bank, Boston Properties, and Merrill Lynch. Mr. Orso serves on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York and also on the Executive Board of Directors of STARS Club, a non-profit organization aiming to assist underprivileged students in their academic pursuits.

Mr. Orso is a graduate of Columbia Business School, where he received an MBA in Finance, and St. John’s University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Mr. May was previously a Managing Director at Credit Suisse and senior member of the Real Estate Finance Group where he led more than $20B of originations. He oversaw West Coast and Latin American operations including the origination and distribution of CMBS & other real estate related products. He innovated numerous CMBS products including the securitization structures for condominiums, construction projects, ski mountains and casinos. Mr. May is a graduate of University of Maryland where he received a B.A. in Psychology and a B.S. in Finance.

Senior Management continued

Mr. Day, the Chief Executive Officer of Berkeley Point Capital and its predecessor firms since 2009, has over 25 years of extensive experience building and leading commercial real estate companies.

Prior to his current role, he was Co-Head and Managing Director of the firm’s predecessor companies from 2006–2009, and Managing Partner, Western U.S. from 2002–2006. He joined the predecessor companies in 2001 as Head of Production, Western U.S. and was a member of the office of CEO, Executive Committee and a voting member of the Credit Committee. He has been directly involved in various investment banking and trading activities, including capital raises, M&A, capital commitment facilities, TRUPS, loan syndication, CMBS, distressed debt, and whole loan and pool sales. He helped build and lead the Western U.S. expansion of National Realty Funding, a commercial mortgage conduit whose equity partners were Prudential Securities and Progressive Insurance. Mr. Day also founded and was a Managing Partner of Plaza Realty Advisors, a regional mortgage banking firm representing various life companies.

He began his career at Sonnenblick Goldman, a New York Based real estate investment banking firm. He received his B.A. in Business, with a concentration in Finance, from the University of Colorado.

Michael C. May has over 30 years of experience in the capital market, residential mortgage, and multifamily mortgage sectors. He joined CCRE in August 2012 as Managing Director and National Head of Multifamily lending business, where he is focused on expanding multifamily debt execution.

Previously, Mr. May had an impressive tenure at Freddie Mac, last serving as Head of Multifamily. This line produced over $100B in originations and created the ‘K’ series bonds, which were the first commercial backed securities credit sale following the financial crisis. He also served in a number of capacities during his time with Freddie Mac. As Head of Single Family, he led a 2,000 person Single Family Business line which generated $700B in originations; and as the Head of Structured Finance, he oversaw a 100 person REMIC and securities issuance business, which issued over $120B in structured securities, including Freddie Mac’s first Multifamily REMIC. Mr. May also headed up Securities Trading, which was composed of a 100 person broker/dealer and produced over $110B in proprietary securities trades.

Mr. May currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Urban Land Institute Multifamily Gold Council and sits on the board of several organizations which include the National MultiHousing Council and the National Equity Fund of which he is a member of the executive committee. Additionally, he is a member of the NAHB Multifamily Leadership Board, and a former member of Commercial Real Estate/Multifamily Finance Board of Governors. He was also a past participant on the Bipartisan Policy Center Housing Commission roundtable for Multifamily Housing systems. Mr. May is a CPA and CIA and received his B.S. in business with a concentration in Accounting from Old Dominion University.
