Overview of EXFO Connect Client

This section provides an overview of the EXFO Connect Client application. The EXFO Connect Client is a Platform application, which connects a Platform to the EXFO Connect Server. The Platform can be configured to work in Contractor Mode. The Contractor’s Operator can perform the tests and upload the test data to specific Business Unit.

The Platforms are allotted to the Business Unit by the System Administrator or Business Unit Administrator from the EXFO Connect Server. The System Administrator of the EXFO Connect Server allots, transfers, or loans a Platform(s) to other Business Unit.

The EXFO Connect Client assigns or releases the Floating Options on a Module.

The EXFO Connect Client can also connect to the EXFO Apps Server to receive the notifications about upgrades, updates, new software released by EXFO.

By default, the EXFO Connect Client starts in EXFO Apps mode. Configure the EXFO Connect Client to connect to EXFO Connect mode.

To configure the EXFO Connect Client with the EXFO Connect Server, refer “Configuring EXFO Connect Client” on page 13.

Features The features of EXFO Connect Client are as follows:

EXFO Connect Licenses

When running in EXFO Connect mode, the Platform needs to have valid FTB-Care and TDM/TEM licenses to avail EXFO Connect services.
