We are looking at SEVERAL things that need to be covered: What ARE the political transformations? How did they contribute to continuities
and changes in CULTURE? Keep all of this narrowed in focus to the
Mediterranean region during the period between 200-1,000 CE.

the topic. Make sure your thesis can be argued
against (It is not a statement of a fact, but of your opinion.)

Be sure your examples are appropriate. If it doesn’t back up your point, use a different example. (If you have no examples then you should pick a different support/point for your thesis).

Seriously though, the difference between a score of a “5” and a “7” lie in the sophistication of your argument/writing. To get to a level of “7” the readers need to know that you understand what you are writing about…

This way your Essay contains only information relevant to the question being asked. It makes it easier to write and it packs more of a punch for the reader.
