Event Guidelines for Weddings at Knoll Farm

Wehavemanyoptionsonourhillsidefarmforlocationsofbeautifulandinspiringceremonies;youcanhavetheintimacyofthehistoricbarnorthewideexpansivebeautyat“WeddingRock”atthetopofthemeadow,orboth,forafullandexclusiveweekendwithyourweddingparty.

Eitherway,ourspacelendsitselfbesttosmalltomid-sized(upto150people),relativelyinformalweddings.Eventscanbeverygracious,beautifulandelegantherewiththerightplanning,andwewilldoeverythingwecantohavethegroundslookingtheirbestforthespecialday.Weareseasonal,andourbarnisunheated,sowebookweekendsbetweenmidJuneandlateSeptember.

Mostceremoniesareheldatthetopofthehill,wherechairscanbesetonaflatlawnlookingoutatthemountains.Thesitehasanaccessroadforbringingpeopletotheceremonywithjustaveryshortflatwalkacrossthelawn.ThereceptionanddancecanbeintheEventsbarn,oroutsideonthelawnssurroundingthebarn.

TheEventsbarncan accommodated up to 150 people for dining and a ceremony on two levels in case of rain. Anotheroptionistohaveafoodtruckorpizzaovencateryourreception,andhaveamoreinformaloutdoordinner,withtablesonthelawnssurroundingthebarn,andabaranddancinginsidelaterintheevening,aftersunset.We’vehadmanyfabulousweddingsthatfollowthisdesignandwecanhelpyouthinkitthrough.Itreallydependsonthesize,andformalityofyourwedding.

Lodging

Ifdesired,wecanalsoofferupouryurtsinourRefugeforweddingfamiliesandguests.OursettingisextraordinaryandtheexperienceoftheyurtvillageisunlikeanyotherlodgingintheValley.It’sintimate,

givesasenseoftheoutdoorsandthenightsky,artisticandsecluded.Wehave5double-occupancyprivateyurtswithonedoublebed,4familyyurtswith2doublebeds,and2largeryurtswith4singlebeds.Wecansleepatotalof26people.Wehaveabathhousewithoutdoorshowersandflushtoiletsinthetentvillage.

IfyoubooktostayattheRefugeatKnollFarmaspartofyourpackage,itgivesyouexclusiveuseoftheentirepropertyforyourweddingweekend.Wealsohavelovelymeditationspaces,walkingtrails,firecircles,andeasyaccesstotheriverandvillageofWaitsfield,andotherofferingshereandnearbythatcanbenicetointegrateintotheweekendplans.Thereare,ofcourse,lotsofotheroptionsforlodginginthevillagewithina10minutedriveforyourguests.

Wehaveatwo-nightminimumstayonsummerandfallweekends.

Pricing(2021)

Aweddingceremony,dinnerandeveningfestivitiesthesamedayinthebarnis$6,000.(Week-dayweddingscanbenegotiatedforalowerprice.)

Bookingtheentirefacilityfortheweekendincludesalloutdoorspaces,theEventsbarn,andtwonightslodging.Thelodging(acostyoucanpassontoyourguests)has space forupto26guests.Thetotalweekendpackageis$9500.

Consultationoneventplanning,includingadviceondesigningthespace,recommendationsforcatering,flowers,music,etc.Coordinatingwithallpartiesleadinguptotheevent.

Transportationtoandfromceremonysiteforthosewhoneedit.

Day of the event, our staffhelpwithreceivingrentals,managingthesetupofthebandandcaterer,providingliaisonhelp, making sure things run smoothly.

Helpwithparking,welcominggueststotheevent and shuttling elders to the ceremony spot.

Kitchenandwashroomforusebyaprofessionalcaterer.

Ourbarncapacityis150people.Largerweddingscanonlybeaccommodatedoutdoors.

Wedohaveatownsoundordinancethatrequiresnoloudmusicafter10pm.Likewiseasrequestedbythetownthereisnoparkingaloudontheroad.Wecanaccommodateparkinginanadjacentfield,withmarkedwalkingpathstotheevent.

Wedonotallowopenflameinanyofthebuildingsontheproperty,includingyurts.Candlescanbeusedinthebathhouse,andlanternshungoutside.Beautifullightingandsparklelightsandpaperlanternsinthebarnandyoucanaddmoreofyourownlightinganddecorationasyouwish.

Ifyouchosetohavealcoholaspartofyourevent,youmusthireacateringfirmlicensedtoservealcohol,aswearenot.
