Seniors Expo 2021Wyong Race Club15 April 2020, 10am-2pm

Council will shine the spotlight on a range of services and resources available to seniors across the region by bringing them together under one roof! The event will feature a variety of stallholders from businesses, services and community groups around the Coast. Visitors will have the opportunity to speak to the organisations first-hand, ask questions and gather resources as required. There will also be free half hour classes from Moving for Joy, at 10.30am, 11.30am and 12.30pm. Practiced in a chair for safety and stability, the program builds core muscles strength, agility to your mind, flexibility and coordination to your whole body. The Central Coast is home to around 90,000 seniors, many whom achieve amazing things and generously donate their time to several community and sporting groups, organisations and charities.

Seniors Festival is all about applauding the regions incredible seniors, promoting and celebrating the diversity of older people on the Central Coast, while also providing opportunities for them to get together.

Seniors Festival 2021 celebrations are set to get toes tapping and bodies moving, with an exciting array of activities to keep you entertained over the 12-day festival. There are educational workshops, theatre and shows, markets and expos as well as health and fitness programs to help enrich lives and support the community age positively as they grow older. There is something for all ages and abilities.

This is your time to shine as a senior on the Coast – have fun and celebrate your age, wisdom and experience in a fun and friendly environment.

Are you ready? Emergency planning for seniorsDo you have an emergency plan? Do you have a packed emergency evacuation kit? Do you know who to contact to get help or to find information in an emergency? Emergency situations can arise rapidly and quickly develop into life threatening situations. The single most important factor to your survival is planning and preparation. These workshops have been developed for Seniors and are designed to help you build strategies to stay safe in extreme weather events, whether fire, flood, storm or heatwave.Cost: Free.
