Evaluation Question 4: Who would be the audience for your media product?

Images 1 and 2 London Teenagers- boys

Stereotypical teenagers that swear and use slang that is specific to their area. Dress is ‘chavy’ or ‘lower class’ including tracksuits and hoodies. Shop at sports shops such as ‘JD Sports’ which is common in London areas. Different races, not just white, highlighting the new diverse culture in London. Perhaps more appealing to black groups as none of the characters are white. Reference to drugs- youth have greater awareness of drug use and are more

exposed in intake in areas such as London. Violence- may be a common occurrence in their area.

Stereotype of London teens and street culture.

Audience board: collage of people who are more likely to watch our media product (target audience).

Image 3 Average (East) Londoner-

Not necessarily black but high chance especially since our product targets this audience due to slang and characters.

Reasonably young- 20-39 years old. In urban area- graffiti, litter, concrete, enclosed etc. Wealthier than the teenagers but unlikely to have a high paying job. Use of slang. Style is modern fashion of London- looks current and may follow trends. Might be attracted to story because of relation to area but not likely to be involved

with drugs and violence.Image 4Young black male-

The use of the close up in this image conveys aggression, a typical stereotype of young black males.

He would also be part of our target audience because he may be able to relate to our story and characters.

The camera angle (eye line) is similar to the camera shot that police take of convicts, relating to the codes and conventions of crime thrillers and the lingering theme of police vs gangsters.

Images 5, 6, 7 and 8Groups of youths from anywhere-

Actors are around the same age as our target audience- making it more relatable Young people have more of an interest than adults in this genre/type of movie Young people are becoming more exposed to this type of drama and these themes

with the increasing maturity of world issues. Drugs, a main theme in crime thrillers is also becoming more socially acceptable in

the modern generations.
