HOW DOES MY MAGAZINE USE CONVENTIONS OF FORM?

The form of my magazine used conventions of movie magazines. Such as the cover line is displayed in a unique font and colour at the bottom, to attract the audience to read the magazine. This is conventional For movie magazinesAs you can see inThis movie Magazine.

The left third has different stories, and engages the audience. They are used in different fonts to which is conventional for a movie magazine.

The main image dominates the magazine, which is used in nearly every movie magazine. The movie title is also on the image which shows that the picture and title are a main feature of the edition. This is conventional for the form of a movie magazine, such as the ‘best movie’ magazine at the bottom has the actors name in bold with the image of the actor.

The masthead is in bold on the top of the magazine. Using colours in contrast to stand out to the audience. It is also a bold sans serif font which makes it more clear from a distance, which is conventional for the form of not just horror magazines, but conventional for all different types of magazine.

This magazine also has something to offer the audience something free that always makes the product more appealing.

The use of colour on the magazine makes different texts stand out more to the audience. And different sizes for different parts to help make the magazine stand out to the audience. Which is conventional for the from of magazines and most advertising for movies to make the more significant parts stand out more effectively.

HOW DOES MY MAGAZINE USE CONVENTIONS OF GENRE

The stand first is in red which can resemble blood, which is often used text on horror genre magazines/posters. The red helps resemble blood, and the more gory side of a horror movie. Which makes it more conventional as it resembles the type of movie clearly resembled in the title

The image is very conventional for this magazine. The character and her make up make her look more sinister and the black eyes and long hair make her appear more mysterious.
