Success in SC6 calls so far*
• 399 participations in proposals
• 28 funded participations, 7 coordinators
• 9 million granted to Finnish organisations
• Success rate 7 % (all countries: 7 %)

• Three thematic calls:
– Migration (4 topics; 36 million)
– Socio-economic and cultural transformations in the context of the fourth
industrial revolution (8 topics; 48,5 million)
– Governance for the future (8 topics; 40,5 million)
• Open on 7 November 2017; Deadline on 13 March 2018 (tbc)
General information about 2018 calls
• 2 - 3 projects per topic will be funded (RIA, IA)
• Size of projects: 2,5 or 3 million/RIA, 3-4 or 4-5 million/IA, 1,5 or 1-2
million/CSA
• One-stage calls
• Standard TTG timetable (evaluation outcome 5 months after
submission, grant agreements signed 8 months after submission)
• 2019 topics are specified, 2020 calls will be decided later

• MIGRATION-02-2018: Towards forward-looking migration
governance: addressing the challenges, assessing capacities and
designing future strategies (RIA)
• MIGRATION-06-2018-2020: Mapping and overcoming integration
challenges for migrant children (2018 RIA, 2020 tbc)
• DT-MIGRATION-07-2018-2019: Addressing the challenge of migrant
integration through ICT-enabled solutions (2018 IA, 2019 IA)
• MIGRATION-09-2018: Addressing the challenge of forced
displacement (RIA)
• Proposals shall include at least one participant from a third country mainly in
Africa and/or Middle East

call, and responds with appropriate objectives

• Relevant stakeholders’ knowledge and experience are appropriately

Expected impact
• The plan to inform policy is convincing as it includes a liaison with
institutions at national, international and EU levels
• The project will have a positive impact on society, because stronger ties
will be developed between local communities and public institutions
• There is an excellent dissemination and exploitation plan tailored to
specific end-user needs / to various target audiences
• The project moves beyond traditional modes of delivery and provides
web seminars, stakeholder consultations and training, as well as
dissemination in social media and a dedicated webpage
• The tools and knowledge will be applied and further developed beyond
the timescale of the project

Expected impact
• The consortium partners have collaborated on previous projects and
have good track records.
• An outstanding consortium in terms of country participation and
expertise, and has very good geographical coverage and wide
multidisciplinarity.
• Work plan is differentiated according to the different stages of the
research.
• The timeplan and division of labour are clear and balanced.
• Adequate provision for strategic management, monitoring of the
research project and quality assurance (f.ex. GA, team leaders’
meetings, advisory board, internal peer review panel).
• There is clear responsibility for risk management, as well as an
appropriate approach to risk identification and mitigating strategies are
set out
