The master was very sad about the death of his friend Fr. Charles Russo. He was his first pastor when the master became a priest. Fr. Russo as vocation director was the one to

welcome him into the diocese of Paterson. The master forever will be grateful to Fr. Russo

for accepting him as a candidate to the priesthood for the diocese of Paterson. Fr. Russo was a priest for 53 years and served in many capacities in the diocese. The good thing

about him is that since St. Margaret was his home parish, after retiring he came to Morristown and was able to come to Mass here at St. Margaret’s. Many times he said Mass for the people of St. Margaret. I know the master will miss him as many people that knew him well. Well I hope you have a nice Memorial Day weekend with no rain at all. I want to join you in pray to the Creator to stop the rain! Well, take care of yourself and be good. Ciao, woof, woof.

THE HOLY TRINITYBy Father Yasid

We celebrate today a very important So-lemnity, The Holy Trinity, which is Father, Son and Holy Spirit, one God who eternally exists as three distinct Persons. This doctrine may be confusing and hard to understand it for us, as it was also for the saints. Saint Augustine tried to understand this mystery of God and how He can be both One and Three. And it is said that one day, when Saint Augustine was walking by the sea-shore, thinking about the Holy Trinity, trying to under-stand it, he sees in the distance a boy doing something strange, as he was running back and forth to the water with a sea shell, carrying water from the ocean, try-ing to fill a small hole in the sand. Saint Augustine ap-proached him and asked: “Boy, what are you doing?” To what the boy answered, “I am trying to bring all the water from the sea into his hole”, to what Saint Augus-tine said, “That is impossible, my dear child; the hole cannot contain all that water.” Then the child stood up, looked at him and said, “It is no more impossible than what you are trying to understand with your small in-telligence, the mystery of The Holy Trinity.” He was sur-prised by the boy’s answer, he looked down, and when he raised his head up to ask him something else, the boy had vanished. For some people, it is believed that that child was Jesus appearing to Saint Augustine, teaching him the limitations of the human mind and how big it is this mystery of our faith. Others would say that it was an angel from God sent to him to teach him a lesson.

However, However, how do we know that God is Father, or God is Jesus or that God is the Holy Spir-it? We read on Philippians 1:2, “Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” We also read about Jesus as God on Titus 2:13, “as we await the blessed hope and glorious appearance of our great God and Savior, Jesus”. And on Acts 5:3-4 we read about the Holy Spirit as God, “Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart

that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your dis-posal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.” Even though they are Three Persons, they are One God. We worship one true God which is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. To have a better idea of this mys-tery think about a father: He is a son, he is also a father and a spouse, but remains the same person.

They are united as one and they want the Church to be also one. Do not let the division or hatred or anger steal the grace of God from you. We receive blessings and strength from God when we become part of the body of Christ, as we are also one with Him.May the Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit bless you and your family always.

MEMORIAL DAYThis weekend we celebrate and honor those who died on duty during the wars of our country. Not only the military cemeteries contain those soldiers who died during the war but also cemeteries in our towns honor our beloved fallen soldiers. We are very grateful to these soldiers for giving their lives for our country, for freedom and for the good of the peo-ple. May they be rewarded with the gift of everlasting life in the presence of God. Remember there is a Mass at Holy Rood at 9:00 AM and at Gate of Heaven cemetery in East Hanover at 11: 00 AM. I hope you can join us at either of these places.

LEGION OF MARYHere in our parish we have the Legion of Mary among the Hispanic Community and they meet on Mon-days at 6:30 PM over at the Parish Center. It is our wish that we can have the Legion of Mary among our English Speaking people. If you have been a Legionary please let us know so we can start the program in our par-ish. This is a great way to witness to the Gospel of Christ.

EUCHARISTIC—VOCATIONAL THURSDAYBeginning this Thursday we are going to gather in the Chapel at 6:00 PM to pray for vocations to the priesthood, religious life and married life. There is a great need to pray for vocations and I need you to join me for this important need in our church. I really encourage everyone to come and pray with me for these vocations. We are a big parish and we don’t have vocations coming out from our parish. So please come and together let us pray. Remember this Thursday at 6:00 PM in the Chapel.

BIBLE STUDYBecause it is the year of the Bible we are offering to all our parishioners a Bible Study every Thursday at 7:00 PM. We will study the readings of the following Sunday to help us understand and be prepared for that coming Sunday. I hope you can join us. Remember we need to know the Scrip-tures. Ignorance of the Scriptures is ignorance of Christ said St. Augustine.

El amo se puso muy triste con la muerte de su amigo el Padre Charles Russo. Él fue su primer párroco cuando el amo se hizo sacerdote. El Padre Russo como di-

rector de vocaciones fue quien lo recibió en la Diócesis. El amo estará por siempre

agradecido con él por haberlo aceptado como candidato para el sacerdocio. Fue sacerdote por cincuenta y tres (53) años y sirvió en numerosas funciones en la Diócesis de Paterson. Lo bueno de todo esto fue que como St. Margaret

fue su parroquia natal, por así decirlo, después de que se jubiló venía a Morristown y a Misa ahí a St. Margaret. El Padre Russo vino a la parroquia muchas veces a celebrar la Misa. Sé que el amo lo extrañará mucho al igual que toda la gente que lo conoció. Bueno, espero que tengan un bonito fin de semana largo de Memorial Day y que no haya nada de lluvia. Me uno a sus oraciones para que jun-tos roguemos al Creador para que pare la lluvia. Bueno, se cuidan mucho y que estén bien. Chao, guau, guau.

MEMORIAS DE TONY

LA SANTÍSIMA TRINIDADPor el Padre Yasid

Celebramos hoy una solemnidad muy im-portante, la de la Santísima Trinidad, que es el Padre, el Hijo y el Espíritu Santo, un solo Dios que existe eternamente en tres personas distintas. Esta doctrina puede ser muy confusa y difícil de entender para nosotros, como también lo fue para los santos. San Agustín trató de entender este misterio de Dios y de cómo puede ser ambos, uno y tres. Se dice que un día, cuando san Agustín caminaba por la playa, pensando sobre la santísima Trinidad y trataba de entenderla. En la distancia él ve a un niño haciendo algo muy ex-traño, pues corría, iba y regresaba con agua en una concha marina, llevando agua del océano y tratando de llenar un pequeño hueco en la arena. San Agustín se acercó a él y preguntó: “Niño: ¿qué estás ha-ciendo?” A lo que el niño respondió, “estoy tratando de traer toda el agua del mar a este hueco”, a lo que san Agustín dijo, “Pero eso es imposible, mi queri-do niño, el hueco no puede contener toda el agua”. Entonces el niño se levantó, lo miró y le dijo, “Esto no es más imposible que lo que tú estás tratando de entender con tu pequeña inteligencia que es el mis-terio de la Trinidad”. Él se sorprendió mucho por la respuesta del niño, bajó la mirada y cuando levantó la cabeza para preguntarle algo más al niño, ya había desaparecido. Para algunas personas, este fue el Niño Jesús quien se le aparece a san Agustín y le enseña las limitaciones de la mente humana y qué tan grande es este misterio de nuestra fe. Otros dirían que fue un ángel de Dios enviado a él a enseñarle una lección.

Sin embargo, ¿Cómo sabemos que el Padre es Dios, o que Jesús es Dios, o que el Espíritu San-to es Dios? Leemos en Filipenses 1:2 “Gracia y paz a vosotros, de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesu-cristo”. También leemos sobre Jesús como Dios en Tito 2:13: “aguardando la esperanza bienaventurada y la manifestación gloriosa de nuestro gran Dios y Salva-dor Jesucristo”. Y en Hechos de los Apóstoles 5: 3-4 leemos sobre el Espíritu Santo como Dios, “Y dijo

Pedro: Ananías, ¿Por qué llenó Satanás tu corazón para que mintieras al Espíritu Santo, y sustraje-ses del precio de la heredad? Reteniéndola, ¿no se te quedaba a ti? Y vendida, ¿no estaba en tu poder? ¿Por qué pusiste esto en tu corazón? No has men-tido a los hombres, sino a Dios.” Aunque ellos son tres personas, es un Dios. Nosotros adoramos un solo Dios verdadero que es Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo. Para tener una idea de este misterio, piensa sobre un padre de familia: él es hijo, es padre y también es esposo, pero sigue siendo una misma persona.

Ellos están unidos como uno y quieren de la igle-sia sea también una. No dejes que la división, el odio o la rabia te roben la gracia de Dios. Recibimos ben-diciones y la fuerza de Dios cuando nosotros, siendo parte del cuerpo de Cristo, somos también uno con Él.

Que la Santísima Trinidad, el Padre, el Hijo y el Espíritu Santo los bendiga a ustedes y sus familias siempre.

We would like to hear from you how do you feel about our Sunday celebrations in regards to Hospitality, Preaching, Music and the way things are been done here in our parish. NUESTRA LITURGIA – LA MISALa Misa es el centro de nuestras vidas como cristianos católi-cos que somos. San Juan Pablo II dijo: “La Misa es el cen-tro y la cumbre de la vida cristiana”. Queremos que la Misa no sea un simple “función” sino una verdadera expresión de nuestro amor a Dios y una verdadera alabanza que vi-ene directo del corazón. Caridades católicas – Diócesis de PatersonColecta anual de alimentos para los más pobres

2-3 de junioDebido a numerosas peticiones del banco de alimentos de Caridades católicas, el Obispo Serratelli ha pedido hacer una colecta de alimentos en toda la diócesis en la Fiesta de Corpus Christi. Se nos pide traer cualquier tipo de Pasta y salsa de tomate en vidrio (tomato sauce). Se acep-tan donaciones de dinero a nombre de Catholic Charities.

DÍA DE RECORDACIÓN – MEMORIAL DAYEste fin de semana celebramos y honramos la vida de aquellos que murieron en el servicio militar durante las guerras de nuestro país. Ahora descansan en cementerios militares y en cementerios locales donde honramos a nuestros héroes caídos. Estamos muy agradecidos con todos ellos por haber dado sus vidas por nuestro país, nuestra libertad y por el bien del pueblo. Que sean recompensados con el don de la vida eterna en la presencia de Dios. Recuerden que habrá Misa en el Cementerio Holy Rood a las 9 AM y en el Ce-menterio Gate of Heaven, en East Hanover a las 11 AM, Es-pero que puedan acompañarnos a alguna de las Misas que ofreceremos en estos lugares este lunes, día de recordación.

LEGIÓN DE MARÍA Aquí en nuestra parroquia ofrecemos este grupo para los hispanos y se reúnen los lunes a las 6:30 p.m. en el Centro parroquial (oficina de la iglesia). Queremos tener también un grupo para los americanos. Si usted ha sido legionario por favor déjenos saber para que nos ayude a empezar el programa para la comunidad americana. Es una gran forma de dar testimonio del evangelio de Cristo.

JUEVES EUCARÍSTICO – JUEVES VOCACIONALComenzando este jueves, 31 de mayo nos reuniremos en la Capilla de adoración para orar por las vocaciones al sacerdocio, la vida religiosa y la vida matrimonial. Hay una gran necesidad de orar por las vocaciones y necesitamos de su ayuda y apoyo. Animo a todos para que vengan a re-zar conmigo porque hayan más vocaciones. Somos una parroquia grande y no hay vocaciones que salgan de aquí. Así que vengan y juntos ore-mos por eso. Este jueves a las 6 p.m. en la Capilla (12 Columba Street).

ESTUDIO DE BIBLIAPorque estamos en el Año de la Biblia estamos ofreciendo a todos un Estudio de Biblia los jueves a las 7 p.m. en el basement de la iglesia. Estudiaremos las lecturas del domingo próximo para prepararnos con anterioridad al domin-go. Espero que puedan acompañarnos. Recuerden que necesitamos conocer las Escrituras. “Ignorar las Escrituras es ignorar de Cristo”, dijo San Agustín.
