Establishing Target Audience since my film is a thriller and has an age certificate of 15, it would be aimed at people over the age of 15 as they may be disturbed by some parts and I think my film would be better watched by a more mature and perceptive audience as it is quite hard to follow. My film is suitable for both genders and I think that both sexes who like other psychological thriller films would like this film. My film would be suitable to those living in both urban and rural areas, however it could be said that people in urban areas are better educated so it may be that this film would be more appealing to them. My film would be suitable to people with all kinds of personalities, although it would be best suited to an audience who can appreciate the aspects of my film who can create perceptive opinions, as an important aspect of a psychological thriller is the audience formulating what they think is real or which character they think is right throughout the film. My target audience’s possible interests/hobbies would be the genre of  horror films, the study of psychology, science and reading. The lifestyles of my target audience would vary greatly, however on the whole I would say that they would be people who have a lot leisure time spend so possibly younger people who do not work full time, also people who are either well education or currently in education, as my film would best appeal to those who have interests in psychology and would be able to understand the plot. My film is suitable to most of the social classes, those in education and those who work (15-50), includes people who still live with their parents and homeowners. I would think that the majority of my target audience would be social network users, as the ideal target audience would be teenagers to those of about 30, and would possibly post about my film on their blog, websites or do a review on their YouTube channel. I think my target audience would want to watch my film as it would appeal to their interests, it would hopefully come across as quite complex therefore would provide the audience to interact, also I think that my characters would be appealing to a teenage audience, as the main character of my film is a teenager, however my other characters are older and I have varied ages. I gathered a good sample of different age groups to answer my Questionnaire so I think that the results I got would be applicable to my whole target audience. Information I acquired through my questionnaire: This information is useful in giving me a rough idea of popular settings and characters of a p.t film. As well as a sample of other films that people have seen and liked. 'What would you expect to find in a psychological thriller opening sequence?'  The majority of people who answered my questionnaire believed that a colloquial, normal setting should be established in the opening sequence, such as a house, hospital etc. Also the protagonist should be introduced in some way, perhaps displaying their everyday life such as going to work or eating breakfast, perhaps displaying the mental issues they are dealing with. 'List one or more psychological thrillers you have seen that you thought were good' The most popular answers to this question were films such as The Black Swan, Insidious, Shutter Island, Hide and Seek, Silence of the Lambs. 'What kind of Characters would you expect to see in a psychological thriller?' Most people said that the 'good' people are usually normal, average people, with the protagonist being different from the rest. And the 'villain' (usually in the protagonists mind etc) is usually evil, sinister disturbing etc. 'What would make you want to go and see a p.t film, that was shown in the trailer?' Most people said something along the lines of something that creates mystery, suspense and something that would scare you/ make you think. 'What kind of setting do you think would be effective for a p.t?' The most popular settings suggested were: an old scary house, a hospital, an insane asylum, an isolated house/ cabin in the woods.
