The Automated Edging system is specifically designed for high volume output, this unit can process lenses with excellent accuracy and speed. The 7EA can be used manually or in fully automated mode using the pick and place assembly unit.

The Kappa CTD is the latest offspring of the Essilor range. The Kappa CTD is a revolution in edging technology with it’s automatic focimeter/blocker which can trace the most shallow frames on the market. The edger unit incorporates grooving, chamfering, drilling and slotting in one compact component. The drilling and slotting function is the fastest and most accurate on the market today.

The Kappa is a proven workshop favourite with functions such as grooving, chamfering and lens polishing. Its ergonomic design and ease of use, make Kappa your first choice.

The 7 EA automated edging system is a state of the art unit that can process lenses with exceptional accuracy and speed. Designed with a dedicated pick and place assembly unit using state of the art technology from BOSCH, a company known for its quality and high level of accuracy. Using a pneumatic cup the arm picks up the lens from its tray and places it into the edger. Once the lens is complete the mechanism reverses itself, removing the lens from the machine and replacing it into the job tray. The 7 EA is versatile and can meet your preference for loading/unloading through either a tray stacker unit or a conveyor system.

kappa ctdthe specialist edging systemThe new Kappa CTD is a revolution in edging technology. The fully automatic focimeter/blocker traces the most shallow & highly curved frames currently on the market. The unit recognises the lens type, and considers dispensing information to rotate the blocking button & block the lens automatically. The internal camera will even take a photograph of your rimless dummy lens so that the holes and slots can be copied exactly. The tracer holds 200 lens shapes and an additional 200 hole manufacturers coordinates.

The edger internally incorporates grooving, chamfering, drilling and slotting in one compact component. The drilling and slotting function is the fastest and most accurate on the market today.

Essilor produce a wide range of dispensing tools and workshop equipment, from hand edgers to Presbyopic Demonstration Sets. It is often difficult to describe to patients the lens options available. Essilor has developed a number of effective tools to demonstrate these options.


While upgrading our edging equipment, we have also upgraded our service to match. Thanks to extensive testing during manufacturing and the built in self-diagnostic functions, downtimes are very unlikely but if they do happen we will have your equipment operational again in no time.
