Premiering January 30, 2011, The Elements Showcase presents curated

oerings in the art o ragrance design. Happening rom January 30 to 31,

2011, The Elements Showcase is an innovatorrom its custom-designed

space to its cutting-edge ragrance installations. The Elements Showcase

is the deinitive new experience or established and emerging visionaries in

the feld o ragrance, including perume, personal care, and home ambiance.

The Elements Showcase will be held at Skylight West in Midtown Manhattan.

With interiors conceptualized and designed by New Yorks oremost designirm, Reddymade Design, and a loor plan transormed by New York

arch itecture frm Steven Learner Studios, The Elements Showcase ocuses

on amalgamating the relationship between exhibitor and space, truly crated

to highlight the most innovative ragrance brands and entrepreneurs.

The Elements Showcase has col laborated with the Fashion

Ins t i t u te o Techno logy on a se r i es o r ag rance i ns ta l l a t i on

projects. Led by Virginia Bonoigl io, chairperson o Cosmetics

and Fragrance Market ing at FIT, Cory Ingram o DayNa Decker,

and Andreea Diaconescu o Lighthouse Beauty, students in the

Cosmetics and Fragrance Market ing program at FIT generated

concepts us ing v i sua l and o l ac to r y e lemen ts to c rea te a

three-dimensional art instal lat ion that incorporates the abstract

theme o D isas te r / Reconst ruc t ion . A se r i es o l ead ing

ragrance and industry execut ives chose the winning project

by Team Ascension.

For The Elements Showcase, Team Ascension has created Aqua

Energy, a resh and clean ragrance assimi lat ing ozonic and salty

no tes . The r ag rance i s c lea r b lue i n co lo r and has a m is t y

texture. Aqua Energys message highl ights the benei ts and

importance o wind energy.

For the inaugural edition o The Elements Showcase, Marc Atlan

is launching his irst per ume under his own name. The ragrance

is ca l led Pet i te Mor t (Par fum d une Femme), which t ransla tes

to Lit t le Death (Scent o a Woman). The t i t le is a reerence to

both l i t t le death , a metaphor or the orgasm, and to the 1974

Ita l ian i lm Profumo d i Donna , in which an i rasc ib le and b l ind

ret ired soldier recognizes women only through their scent.

Peti te Mort is directly inspired by the only bodily luid secreted

solely through desire and brain chemistry: the elusive substance

that is created by a woman when she is about to c l imax . The

pro ject wi l l be presented as a work o a r t us ing rag rance as

the mediumas a ragrance created in the manner o a work

o art . Only 100 bott les o Pet i te Mor t wil l be produced, each

engraved with i ts own edit ion number and accompanied by

its signed cert i icate o authent ici ty.

Pet i te Mor t is the brainchi ld o Marc At lan. Marc is a creat ive

director and designer with 20 years o experience working with

Rei Kawakubo and Comme des Garons, Helmut Lang, Tom Ford,

Prada, Dior, Ol iver Stone, and Phi l ippe Starck as wel l as many

uncommon personal i t ies in the art world.
