Fresh from New York’s runways, spring has arrived in a bouquet of bright colors, breezy fabrics and lively patterns. Designers were inspired by pops of color, playful prints and a tailored touch of chic femininity. The understated glamour of the Mediterranean seaside was alive in looks for leisurely days and elegant evenings. Spring 2012 fashion reflects the relaxed sophistication of the confident woman who makes a statement, effortlessly.

Join us in experiencing the allure of adventure and take a glimpse behind the scenes of the extravagant Portofino-inspired campaign photoshoot for the ARTISTRY Spring 2012 Escape To Paradise collection. On location at an Italian-style villa, a sensational team of premiere creative talent—from elite makeup artist to hair and wardrobe stylists—collaborated under the direction of internationally acclaimed Creative Director Olivier van Doorne. The look, light and mood were carefully created for the perfect portrait of a luxurious Riviera lifestyle. Renowned fashion photographer Lachlan Bailey focused his camera on model Diana Maldovan, and captured timeless moments of exquisite beauty and the elegance that is ARTISTRY.

New York City based Lachlan Bailey is an international fashion photographer, who has created memorable images for some of the editorial industry’s biggest names from Vogue to Harpers Bazaar, and designers from Marc Jacobs to Louis Vuitton. Originally from Australia, Bailey was influenced at an early age by cinematography. He studied both film and photography in Melbourne before moving to London in 2001. Bailey’s pictures possess a very personal take on color, light and beauty.

French born Olivier van Doorne is the Worldwide Creative Director at SelectNY, a prestigious boutique advertising and design agency. An avid world traveler, his adventures have become a source of inspiration in creating visionary campaigns for leading global companies. He has established himself as a diverse and dynamic authority on luxury branding. With his international spirit and guiding creative principles, he infuses imagery with intelligence, and catalyzes substance with style.

NATURAL GLOWTo create a relaxed, glowing complexion for morning and night, blend all four shades of the Fresh Radiance eye and cheek quad and sweep along face where the sun naturally falls—along the cheekbones, the bridge of the nose, and along hairline of the forehead. When the color catches light, the effect is a soft and glowing look.

BRIGHT LIPSFor a vibrant lip look dab Radiant

Pink gloss in center of lips. Use this bright color as the center of attention in this look, and keep the rest of your makeup subtle and light. Lightly blot lips for a

matte yet colorful effect.

CINEMATICCHICTo create a sleek day look, apply the shimmering Island Violet or matte Lagoon teal pencil on the top lash line only. For a more dramatic evening look, retrace the top pencil line thicker, and add liner to bottom lash line, connecting at the outer corner of the eye. Soften the line with the built-in smudger for a smoldering cinematic look.

Bright hues had their day this runway season, from lips to eyeliner to nails. The look was playful, using splashes of color to highlight rather than dominate, while hair remained natural and wistful. The perfect balance of polished flirtation and relaxed elegance.

highlight. Buff the shadow to soften.

Apply Fusion eye shadow along inner corner of eye, keeping it close to lower lash line.

Along upper lash line, blend Fusion eye shadow toward inner corner to brighten.

Apply Iris eye shadow to entire eyelid, blending from lash up to crease.

Mix Iris and Fusion eye colors and blend into crease for further contrast.

Apply Island Violet eye pencil along upper and lower lash line. Stop line where lashes stop. Using the built-in smudger, blend line to soften.

Apply mascara to upper and lower lashes.

Sweep blush brush over entire Golden Glow cheek and eye quad. Apply from middle of ear, blending toward corner of mouth to create a sculpted contour on face. Blend toward tip of nose to create a more natural effect.

Apply the lightest shade of the Golden Glow cheek and eye quad at temples and along top of cheekbones for a subtle highlighting effect.

For lips, apply Coral Shimmer lip gloss. For added drama, layer Coral Shimmer and Radiant Pink lip glosses together.

A P P L I C A T I O N Apply Antique eye shadow under brow arch

and along inner corner of eyes to brighten. Buff the shadow to soften.

Blend Shell eye shadow over eyelid starting along upper lash line and blending up to beginning of crease.

Mix the Shell and Drift eye shadows, blending into crease to create definition.

Apply Lagoon eye pencil along upper and lower lash line, connecting at outer and inner corners. Using the built-in smudger, blend line to soften.

Sweep Seafoam eye shadow over upper and lower eyeliner to soften.

Apply mascara to upper lashes only.

Apply Fusion eye shadow to inner corner of eye, blending well up to crease.

Apply Iris eye shadow shade to entire eyelid, blending from lash up to crease.

Apply Island Violet eye pencil along upper and lower lashes. End line where lashes stop. Using the built-in smudger, blend line to soften.

Blend Lotus eye shadow over eyeliner on lower lashline to soften and set the pencil.

Apply mascara to upper and lower lashes.

Sweep blush brush over entire Golden Glow cheek and eye quad. Apply from middle of ear, blending towards corner of mouth to create a sculpted contour on face. Blend toward tip of nose to create a softer, more natural effect.

For lips, apply Coral Shimmer lip gloss to outer lip area leaving the center of lips bare. Apply Radiant Pink lip gloss in the center of lips. Blend where shades meet.

Blend Seafoam eye shadow over liner along upper and lower lash line to further soften.

Apply two coats of mascara to upper lashes only.

Sweep blush brush over entire Fresh Radiance cheek and eye quad. Apply toward corner of mouth to create a sculpted contour on face. Blend toward tip of nose to create a softer and more natural effect.

Apply the lightest shade of the Fresh Radiance cheek and eye quad at temples and along top of cheekbones for a subtle highlighting effect.

For lips, apply Raspberry Shimmer lip gloss to entire lip. Add a layer of Sparkling Lavender lip gloss in the center of lips to add dimension.

SPRING 2012TOP FIVEFASHION TRENDSNew York runways radiated with sophisticated, yet leisurely chic for Spring 2012. Designers were inspired by Mediterranean colors, from bold brights to pastel. The overall look was comfortable glamour, with seaside florals, prints and a touch of relaxed 20s cool.

1920s RESORTThe 1920s emerged as the reference point for feminine and elegant vintage- inspired looks, with dropped-waist dresses, tailored knits and wide-legged pants making their way down the runway. Left to Right: Tory Burch, Ralph Lauren, Rag & Bone, Marc Jacobs.
