EGI End of Year Report 2013 1
Equippers Group International
It’s been a “roller-coaster” year in matters of the heart. Transitions & loss of loved ones (Jo’s cousin Keith Flanagan, Rene
Purnadi & Raymond Anthony from our church, Leator, wife of Dyonah Thomas, our African coordinator), yet rejoicing in the
great achievements and advancements in the Kingdom of God. We see that the condition of the heart of man is as the rudder of
a great ship. It will bring us through the storms of life to the destiny that God has sowed in our hearts. Experiencing multiple
heart conditions simultaneously our hearts can become weary and troubled. Jesus said in John 14, “Let not your hearts be
troubled.”. In 2014 no matter how turbulent the world may be, we can be confident that His Word, Promises and Spirit are with
us and we will overcome.
The Ripple Is S-p-r-e-a-d-i-n g The highlight of our year was the training we did in Ghana West Africa in September. In a one week seminar we trained
32 leaders from 9 nations of W. Africa. These were leaders that had the vision already but were just looking for the right
tool, which they found in the EGI Series and training. The vision of Dyonah (who arranged and coordinated the seminar)
of seeing EGI’s training spreading across Africa was like a pebble thrown into a pond and the ripples go out and out
and out. Here are a few reports that show that:
MALI - Emmanuel trained 30 leaders in church planting and leadership upon his return from Ghana in September.
Seventeen of these leaders already are in 9 locations with 7 new church plants.
He is also planning an intensive school of missions for 3-4 weeks in partnership
with the Baptist seminary to train leaders from Mali and Nigeria BENIN -Dawood and Paul currently have 235 disciples in on going training at
different levels- from disciple to missionary.
LIBERIA - I am amaze that we are counting over 250 churches and over 500
leaders in training at different levels and in 12 seperate movements. In 2014
we will have 3 key training centers multiplying leaders for CPM(Church
Planting Movement) using EGI in short intentive training and being
credited by a Bible college.
LIBERIA TO GUINEA The launch of a new CPM across the Border into
Guinea. It started with 2 of the original leaders trained in the EGI series. Today
they 8 church plants in 6 villages and have a small Bible training School on the Liberia side of the border to prepare their
leaders for ministry.
WESTERN LIBERIA Four leaders were trained 2 years ago and are working in a Muslim dominated area and very, very
poor. God's spirit gave break through. They have 85 disciples from 6 small towns. They have gain so much respect that the
leaders of the community have asked them to educate their children and give clean drinking water..
MONROVIA LIBERIA – A Bible college in Monrovia will be teaching the EGI Series in a one month Intensive training
that will give the delegates Bible School credits in a move from formal to non-formal education. They had planned for 50 and
have already had to take in 75.
NIGERIA – Training was done in October of 35 leaders from 5 cities and a regrouping to occur in 6 months to a year.
SOUTH SUDAN In November a team from Living Water (www.livingwaterct.org.) led by Don Steen went into South
Sudan where they have been working for the last 10 years. He took some of our manuals where immediately Pastor Edward
Dina who is the President of the Baptist of S. Sudan started teaching the locals from “Basic Beliefs”. Pastor Dina has a team of
8 leaders who travel to different areas and train all the pastors there. We will be meeting with Br. Steen in January to see how
best the EGI materials can be used there.
TANZANIA Besides one of the brothers from Ghana from the September conference planning to do training with the EGI
Materials there, a church in Garland, TX, took the Basic Beliefs of Christianity in Kiswahili into Tanzania in October &
December. The pastor wrote that he is excited to meet with us to discuss how they can use our books there

OUR CHURCH – First Euless
Int. God obviously by design put
us in an area that has people from
all over the world. We minister to
so many nations through our
church, First Euless International.
Every week we have opportunities
to minister, through prayer, care,
love & teaching to those from Asia,
Africa, India, Europe, Mexico & the
USA. Being part of the leadership
team helps us to bring some of our
years of experience into play – plus
we are some of the oldest ones there
so get to play parenting and grand-
parenting roles.
RIGHT – Some of our Int. Family
Going Forward in 2014 Many exciting opportunities are presenting themselves in 2014. We will need wisdom and endurance to meet the challenges.
Philippines – when the leaders of the churches we started read after our trip to Africa that we are able to make long trips
again they immediately wrote inviting us to come to the Philippines in August, 2014 as their Keynote Speakers for the 30th
Anniversary of churches we started there. By faith they want to pay our plane fares. As Dave Dryden, the Head Elder of
the Church that sent is to the Philippines in 1980 said, “That shows real maturity.”
Africa – We have been invited to return to W. Africa in September or October next year to have a regrouping, possibly
including the wives of those that attended the seminar in Ghana, 2013.
Mexico – Spanish Speaking World. One of our disciples, Michael, is asking us to go to Mexico this year. Also we will
be having a meeting in January with the head of Spanish Missions for a large church in the DFW area who have expressed
a desire for us to go with them to some places in Central & S. America.
PRAYER 1. Dyonah – As many of you know Dyonah our African coordinator lost his wife, Leator, unexpectedly Thanksgiving Day.
She had fallen in the house, had internal bleeding, was flown from Liberia to Ghana for surgery and was recovering. When he
went to see if she needed anything she was unconscious and died soon afterwards. They had 3 young children, 12,9 & 6. Just
this morning after returning from the Grandparents for Christmas the 9 year old was asking, “where is Mommy?” Pray for
wisdom for him, time for healing and grace. He has brought such joy to us through carrying out the vision for training that God
gave us years ago. One day he wrote.” I was just holding you in prayer hard and praying for you and then my eyes went on
the year 1975 (The year we started serving the Lord).... I was born 1974 Dec.. It occur to me..I was born for this purpose... To
honor God in serving with you in extending his kingdom in Africa... I had to be born that time..to give you so much time to
experience and walk the walk so that at this time I will run with the vision.”
2. Our schedule in 2014 – wisdom and guidance in where and when to go. We would love to go and do so much but know
we have to use discernment. Also health to carry out all the things our hearts desire to do.
3. Finances. As opportunities come it also takes the finances to go to these many places and to do the things God wills.
God has blessed EGI and us so much this past year. For those of you who have been with us the past 6+ years with Joe’s health
problems your prayers are being answered as evidenced by our trip to Ghana. Thanks for all those prayers!!!
Again we thank you for your support of us and EGI, through prayer, care and your finances. If you would like to make an end
of the year donation to EGI please make sure it is post marked by Dec. 31, 2013. It would be deeply appreciated.
As always, thanks for your prayers, love and support. As always, thanks for your prayers, love and support. As always, thanks for your prayers, love and support. As always, thanks for your prayers, love and support.
