Change seems to be the one constant in life that we can always depend on. Change can be inevitable, scary and amazing depending on how we view the change that is coming our way. When residents fi rst move into our community, there is nervousness, apprehension and fear, but over time the change is viewed as a positive one that brings new friends, new opportunities and new experiences one would not have an opportunity to be a part of. Change seems to be upon us at

Th e Brennity at Daphne and at fi rst glance it can be viewed as unsett ling and brings lots of confusing feelings, but I view this change as exciting for the community. Bringing in new faces to manage our departments in our community will bring new energy and new ideas that will bring the customer service and experiences we off er to you, our residents, to a new level. Additions to our management team like Jamie Brown have already added a bit of pep in our step. I am confi dent the new managers we are adding to our team will continue to challenge us to create new ways to change your lives in an amazing way. Hang in there with us and trust the community’s best interest is in the front of everyone’s mind.

In June, we celebrate our talent that is living and working at Th e Brennity at Daphne. Last year we had a great time and this year will be no exception. Let’s have a great month spotlighting our talent and celebrating all our talents!

Getting to Know David Castleman

Mr. Castleman became a part of the Brennity Community in January of 2010. Mr. Castleman was born and raised in Greensboro, Alabama. He worked as a foreman for the Alabama Department of Transportation. Th is is where he oversaw the construction of roads in the West Central and Southern area of Alabama. He has two lovely daughters that mean the world to him, Aurelia and Claire. Besides his career and family, Mr. Castleman enjoyed hunting, fi shing, traveling, and learning about history. He has traveled all over the United States and Canada.

Since moving into the Brennity Community, Mr. Castleman has met many new residents and has shared his sense of humor with everyone. On any given day, you can fi nd David at the computer. He enjoys staying in touch with his friends on Facebook, always reading the news, checking the stock market, and furthering his knowledge of historical facts and trivia online. Living at Th e Brennity he has enjoyed Historical bus rides, trips to the casinos, and dollar night bingo. His advice to others is to save your money and stay out of jail.

“Who’s giving a lecture at 2 in the morning?” Th e police offi cer asked.

Th e man sighed, “Th at would be my wife.”

Everyone seems to be talking about green smoothies, superfood shakes and vegetable juices nowadays, and no wonder — people are discovering all over the world that they help curb unhealthy cravings, boost their immunity and are even a fantastic meal replacement for busy folks on the go. Th e most common ingredient in all of the green craze - kale! Th e health benefi ts of kale are amazing and abundant.
