he CUPOLA decon 5 is a multi-personnel Rapid Decontamination Shelter comprising aavy-duty inatable frame and removable, disposable inner lining, which incorporates anegral sump tted with drain outlets in each corner. The inner lining has ve separate walk-

rough sections, each of which can accommodate three-stage decontamination. The rstbicle (Stage 1) is used for de-robing and, if required, initial showering involving inducedditive or detergent, the centre cubicle (Stage 2) is where the main showering takes place,d the nal cubicle (Stage 3) is for re-robing. The rst stage cubicles can be tted withnd-held shower units which can be fed from separate Chemical Inducers to dose the waterth detergent/additive at different concentrations and with different additives. The second

age cubicles can either be tted with high ow rate hand-held shower units or xed multi-zzle showers for thorough rinse down ensuring the safe removal of all contaminants andcontamination agents. When the CUPOLA decon 5 is not in use it is stored in a valise-type

orage bag along with a hand pump, repair kit, guy lines, mallet and pegs.he unit is exceptionally stable even in strong blustery winds. The arch shape of the heavy-duty

atable frame is designed to deect wind and increase stability and therefore minimize the effectthe structure. In addition, the shelter can be anchored using the tted guy lines pegged to the

ound or to xed structures. The frame is made from a tough, neoprene coated polyester material,d is tted with pressure relief valves to prevent over-pressurisation. The inner lining is removabler easy and safe disposal, and is made from a bright yellow uorescent coated polyester to ensureaximum internal light during the day and night (all lighting external).he CUPOLA decon 5 can be accessed from both sides but is intended for the movement ofsualties in one direction only. The entrance and exit sides are clearly marked for instantcognition and casualties are guided through each stage of the process with pictograms indicatinge action to be taken and the direction of movement. Interchangeable pictogram signs are ttedove each entrance which allows the operators to section off the decontamination units dependentgender or for clearly marking which cubicles are being used for stretchered casualties.

These are connected by self-sealing auto shut-off valves to the external mainater feed pipes which consist of 19mm() lay-at hose fed from 19mm() Geka quick couplings.etergent can be added to the shower warm water supply for more effective decontamination usingternal Chemical Inducers tted in the supply line. The double chamber inducers have provisionr the introduction of one or two water additives depending on the type contamination. They can bedividually adjusted to deliver a concentration between 0.2% and 10% depending on the type of united and the selected inducer setting. The two inducer chambers can operate in parallel or seriesoffer a choice of congurations to suit the particular circumstances. Detergent may be introducedthe supply for the rst cubicle only or for both the rst and second cubicles in each sectionpending on circumstances. Alternatively, water feeding the shower in the second cubicle couldve a different additive, such as saline solution.

Stretchers can be supported and manoeuvred on anoptional free-standing fold-out Roller Bed that stretches the full length of the designated section.

hen not in use the hinged Roller Bed sections fold up for compact storage and easy handling.ternatively, all internal partitions can be removed and the shelter, with entrance and exit openingsosed, can provide communal protection against the weather.e integral nylon/butyl/nylon sumps are incorporated within the lining, one below the mainowering areas (Stage 1 + Stage 2), and the other below the Stage 3 re-robing area. This is tosure that no contaminated water is present in the clean drying and re-robing area. All used water isntained in the sump of Stage 1 + 2 and can be pumped out for safe testing and disposal from themm() outlets fitted to each of the four corners. Plastic Floor Panels are laid over both the sumpsensure users are not standing in the contaminated wash-off. For transportation and storage theoor Panels can be stacked. In addition, Floor Matting can be laid over the panels for comfort andfety. This matting can be colour coded to avoid confusion during set-up.30cm(12) diameter ventilation tube, suspended from the roof lining, can be connected to a portableternal Warm Air Heater/ Ventilation Fan. This heater/fan can be switched to fan only to increase

circulation in the summer months. Four weatherproof air vents are also fitted in the roof sectionr improved ventilation.
