to provide a more logical separation of commands. • Many windows moved from docked windows into the

central tabbed view area. • Start page updated to provide more links to resources. • Icons updated in all toolbars, lists, trees and diagrams

for improved clarity. • Visual style of all tree controls updated to be more

consistent with current versions of Windows OS. • Element Browser now allows copying of constraints,

requirements, tagged values, maintenance and testing items between elements. • Additional menu commands now available from the

Project Browser that were previously only available for diagram selection. • Extensive testing and validation for compatibility with

Windows 8.

Many Diagramming enhancements including: • New method for rapid diagram creation using keyboard

only. • Show the structure of an element using the new

Structured Compartment. • Search within diagram using new search box located on

the diagram toolbar. • Selection Handles can now be set to different sizes and

colors. Selection improved to ensure clicking outside the border won’t select an item. • Element gradient & general drawing significantly

improved. More consistent diagram rendering including under WINE. • Merging elements when applying UML Patterns now

possible for additional element types. • New diagram transformations added to move between

Sequence Diagrams and Communications diagrams. • Dragging an element over a larger element will now

auto-correct Z-order. • Multiple Shape Script enhancements. • Insert Related, paste and drag from Project Browser

will now insert any required parent items of an embedded object being added. • Dropping objects from Project Browser now shows a

single dialog with the available options for what type of element to drop.

Modeling, Technologies & Tools enhancements including: • Applying a stereotype to anything will now automatically

add the tagged values specified by the stereotype. • Structured Elements replaces old ‘Embedded Elements’

terminology. And adds enhanced behavior. • Auto naming can now be applied to already created

elements. Creation of elements from UML Patterns uses auto-name counter. • Creating an object flow to or from a structured activity

node will create an object node. • Connector Stereotypes can now be applied by dragging

stereotypes from the Toolbox or Resource Tree and dropping them onto connectors.

ArcGIS enhancements including: • ArcGIS export updated to include support for

multiplicities definition for «ConnRule» connectors. • OriginPrimaryKey property on a RelationshipClass now

allows selection of unstereotyped attributes from an abstract class. • Values for the AncillaryRole property corrected to match

documentation and ArcGIS.

BPMN enhancements including: • Connector and floating object labels will now resize to fit

contents and provide options for setting text color, alignment and bold formatting. • Pools and Lanes have had multiple enhancements

added. • Processes and Choreographies can now be drawn

expanded using the ‘Show Composite Diagram in Compartment’ option. • Category and CategoryValue types added for Group to

reference. EndPoint type added for Participant to reference. • Enhanced Connector validation. Improvements to

Data Association line style and direction handling.

SysML enhancements including: • Extensive improvements and refinements of the SysML

technology. Improvements to drawing and diagramming of SysML objects. • Extensive reworking of Ports/Parts/Properties. • SysML 1.3 support added including SysML 1.2 to 1.3

Migration. • Constraint block constraints and parameters

compartments added. (SysML 1.2 and 1.3) • Property elements and Association Roles can now be

bound together to keep their properties synchronised. • Stereotyped elements in SysML will now be added to

the appropriate compartment when multiple stereotypes are applied. • SysML Parametric simulation updated. Now works with

SysML 1.3 and diagrams showing the diagram frame. Is now more stable.

GML enhancements including: • Geography Markup Language (GML) technology added.

GML Profile now implemented. Export of GML Application Schema supported. • Model Pattern included to give a starting point for

modelling a new schema. • ApplicationSchema and Leaf packages now

automatically create a GML diagram.

Model Simulation enhancements including: • User Interface support added to interpreted simulations.

Simulation of timed events now available. • Conditions on Alternate, Optional and Loop Fragments

now evaluated when simulating Sequence Diagrams. • Script task support added to BPMN simulation; allows

variables to be modified dynamically within the simulation. • Simulation Events have been moved to their own

docked window.

Reporting & Document Generation enhancements including: • RTF report engine extended to support calling

external templates. • Multiple HTML report improvements. Improvements to

RTF and HTML Filtering. • Editing of templates now requires ‘Configure Resource’

permission. • Documentation toolbar buttons on Project Browser will

now be available when the Project Browser is in a floating window.

Data Modeling enhancements including: • ODBC Import of Firebird/InterBase improved to ensure

data types imported correctly. • ERD and DDL transformations updated to ensure

column length for Foreign Keys are saved. • Aliases now shown on columns for foreign keys,

indexes and uniqueness constraints when diagram is showing aliases. • ERD transformation updated to improve handling of

primary keys involving multiple columns.

Code Engineering enhancements including: • Behavioral code generation of loops in Activity

diagrams updated. • Reverse Engineering of user defined languages

now supported. • Added Model Transformations for the following

supported languages: - C++, PHP, VB.Net. • Multiple Code engineering enhancements including

Sequence diagram rendering and Code Generation from State Machines. • Multiple Reverse engineering enhancements.

Execution Analysis & Profiling enhancements including: • Debugging using JDWP protocol now supported. • Profiler support for .NET, .NET/Native mixed mode and

Java platforms added. Multiple other Profiler enhancements. • Testpoint support extended to VB.Net. Testpoint

evaluation of values enhanced. • GDB Debugging support for templated class, structs and

pointers improved. Added support for older version of GDB. • Multiple improvements to source code editor and

debug windows.

Scripting enhancements including: • Debug support for scripting languages (JScript,VBScript

and JavaScript) added. • Script groups can now be specified to respond to

specific context types.

Automation & Object Model enhancements including: • New functions or changed function usage including:

Repository.RemoveWindow, Project.GenerateWSDL, RepositoryType, GetDiagramObjectByID, EA_OnT abChanged, EA_OnPreDeleteConnector, EA_On PreDeleteConnector, EA_OnNotifyContextItemModi fied, EA_OnNotifyContextItemModified, EA_OnPre DropFromTree, EA_OnPostNewDiagram, ApplyGrou pLock, ApplyUserLock, ReleaseUserLock.
