Entering the Throne Room
Hebrews 4.14-16
A grand vision (Isaiah 6.1-8)
Isaiah enters the very throne room of God!
We remember Isaiah’s call – and we remember his response .
We must not forget the setting of the call – this is equally important.
First, Isaiah sees God in all His glory.
Then, Isaiah sees himself – weaknesses and all – and realizes the vast difference.
Then, humbled , he desires to serve.
The throne room is now open!
The veil in the tabernacle separates God from ordinary people.
The High Priest is the only agent for the people in approaching God.
The veil in the temple (patterned after the tabernacle) is torn when Jesus is crucified.
Because of and through the sacrifice made by Jesus, full access is granted to God.
A unique privilege
God grants us audience in His throne room.
Jesus is our Great High Priest who gives us access to the Father. (Hebrews 4.14-16)
The fullness of the Godhead is involved in our prayers.
We direct our prayer – our praise, our concerns, and our needs to God , the Father.
We pray to Him in the name of Jesus , our great High Priest, who opens the way to the throne.
We pray with the power provided by the Holy Spirit , God’s gift to every baptized believer.
Tips for prayer …
A doration - C onfession - T hanksgiving - S upplication .
What about us?
Will we pray … to God, the Father and Creator of all
… through our Great High Priest, Jesus, the Christ, who
has opened the way … and by the power and guidance of
God’s Holy Spirit who dwells within us?
