from Moncton.

In August 2015, she graduated from

the Master’s program at the Universi-

ty of Concordia in Montreal, where

she completed work terms at The

Lighthouse Children and Families, Peter Hall School

and the Cummings Centre. She passed the certification

exam in November of 2015, and continued to learn

through her experience in palliative and rehabilitation

care at Horizon Health Network in Saint John.

In May of 2016, her interests lead her to peruse

certification in Neurologic Music Therapy. Domonique

adores her profession and is excited to share her music

therapy knowledge with you.

Mariah Giberson became interested in working with older adults after vol-unteering at a nursing home in high school. Her experiences sparked her desire to pursue her Bachelor of Arts in Gerontology from St. Thomas Uni-versity, and later, a certificate from the University of Graz in Austria

where she studied the Aging and Life Course. She has travelled to the Netherlands and toured the Dementia Village, called “The Hogeweyk”. The inno-

vative level of care within the village inspired her to bring the same approach to N.B. Mariah currently works as an Activity Coordinator at York Care Cen-tre in the memory care units. In her spare time, she volunteers for the Alzheimer's Society of New Brunswick, as a committee member for the Fredericton Memory Cafe. Mariah sees and understands the need for enhancing the care of older adults living in N.B., and hopes in the future, to be able to provide more individualized care for those living with dementia.

Rosanne Burke is a Certified Positive Approach™ to Care Trainer and the owner of Keji Consulting, a dementia education and training business. Rosanne teaches health care profes-sionals and families, specific skills and knowledge that transform how they

care for a person who has dementia. She also con-

Prior to becoming a Certified Dementia Trainer, she worked in pharmaceutical sales and as a Registered Dietitian. She has been a dementia care partner to her father over the last four years and is an active volun-teer with the Alzheimer Society of Nova Society.

Stephanie Seymour is a St. Thomas University Alumni with a degree in Bachelor of Applied Arts in Gerontology, as well as a diploma in Human Services from the New Brunswick Community College.

Since a young age, Stephanie has been

involved in the field of aging. Growing up in Stanley, N.B., a rural town north of Fredericton, Stephanie spent most of her time at the local nursing home. It was here where she developed her passion for working with older adults. Stephanie has worked intensively in long term care for

the past 10 years, specifically in the Activation Depart-ment at York Care Centre. Stephanie has a keen interest in providing meaningful engagement opportunities for older adults living in long term care. She has played a key role in developing and implementing a varied number of therapeutic approaches to enhance the overall care and lives of the residents. For the past 5 years, Stephanie has been in the role of Manager of Activation and Volunteer Services, providing leadership and support to the Activation team, with the overall goal of person-centred care.
