O Power of Pause - good practice to follow: With general education, teacher pauses for 3 seconds anticipating response. With English Language learners, teacher pauses for 5-7 seconds anticipating
response.
O Facts that give you reason to pause: 70% of waking time is spent communicating…..45% of
that time is spent listening. 10 minutes following a presentation, the average person
retains 50% of what they have heard….two days later, 25% is retained.
