a. Cards exchange:

This exchange could be the beginning of a new business relationship in some cultures.

Korea and Japan are so formal in this practice. The significance of this fact is not so

important for British, US or Australians, it is just to give your info to someone, like a

reminder.

b. Personal distance:

Personal space requirements vary among European countries. Generally, people in

Mediterranean and Eastern European countries tend to be more intimate and stand close

to one another. In other European countries, people are more reserved and maintain

greater personal space. It is important to be aware of this- you might offend a European

by backing away if he stands close to you.

c. Bribery:

Cultural differences in the understanding of bribery are some of the most different hurdles

to overcome when dealing with international politics. What might be perfectly

commonplace in one nation of the world, in another could be interpreted as an

unforgivable act of bribery. A very basic example includes tipping the practice of leavin a

gratuity for services from a waiter or waitress, or a bellboy. While in America, tipping is

very much commonplace and considered the norm, in other societies, tipping is viewed as

a form of bribery and is frown upon.
