Describing a person

Life has its ups and downs, but who shares with you your hard and

good times is more important, because life is much easier with friends

and family. The person that has been there for me whenever I need

help is my mother.

My mother’s name is Zahra. She is in her mid-forties. She has fair skin,

a small mouth, small hazel eyes and a bright smile that lights up the

room every time she enters. She is a retired physics teacher. My mother

loves reading, swimming and cooking, but she hates cleaning. She also

hates crowded places, like malls and cinemas. Wearing casual and

comfortable clothes is my mother’s style, she thinks it’s much easier for

her to move around.

My mom is actually a social bee, she loves meeting new people and

making new friends. Therefore, she is a very popular person in our

neighborhood. Helping others out is also one of her favorites, she tries

as hard as she can to help people especially those in need. So,

donating big or small amounts of money to orphans and homeless

people is something she regularly makes sure to do.

She also loves hanging out with neighbors and asking about how they

are doing all the time. Everybody says she is a really nice and kind

person and that’s my opinion too, because even though she is busy all

the time she never forgets about me and my siblings, supporting and

helping us all the time.

I strongly believe in what’s been said: “A mother is her daughters’ best

friend”. I love my mother so much and can’t imagine my life without her.

I could never ever repay her for all she does for me.

Ideal School

Currently, I study at Jidhafs Secondary Girls School, which is located in

Jidhafs. My school is very old but it’s big with some open and planted

areas. I think it would be better if they improve its facilities. Therefore, I

always dream about my ideal school.

My ideal school would be located somewhere open and away from the

cities. It would be called “Leaders’ School”. It would be big with all the

facilities needed. Elevators and escalators would be available.

Classrooms would be well-equipped with the latest technology. The

cafeteria would be very close to the classrooms, where there would be

enough chairs and tables for everyone. There would also be computer

and science labs, a nursing room and the biggest library around the

area which would always be updated with the latest books. Not to

forget, a fitness club and a very spacious spa.

“Leaders’ School” would open at 8 am and close at 1:30 pm. There

would be only five periods a day. Students would choose their own

subjects, two of them would be for entertainment like, music, art or

drama. The rules would not be that strict, the uniform would be very

comfortable and the students would be able to choose the color of their

shoes. Other than the timetable, my ideal school would have many

after-school activities such as, fashion and chess clubs. There would be

regular trips to places like, Adhari Park and the Water Garden.

To sum up, I think my ideal school would be perfect and would attract

lots of students. I wish it would be real because I would be so excited

to study at such a school.

Dear Sarah,

Hello! How are you? I hope everything is fine. Did you do well in the

final exams? My little sister talks about you all the time. As soon as I

received your letter I started writing this one.

Anyway, I’m writing to help you and give you some advice to let go of

the stress that you are living in these days and advice you on how to

change your lifestyle. Also, I hope my advice would help you to have a

better and comfortable life.

First of all, why don’t you try to make some changes to your daily

routine? That could help you feel different and fresh for the rest of the

week. Also, if you get stressed because of your classmates as you are

a shy person, try to trust in yourself by remembering how smart, good

and confident you are. Be sociable, join different clubs and make new

relationships. Because if you sit and chat with strange people, you will

lose your stress and begin a new and more exciting lifestyle .If you are

tired and stressed because of the exams, try to make a schedule and

organize your priorities.

There are so many other things that could help you too. Always think

about positive things and read positive phrases. Make time to have fun

with friends, so go out and forget about everything that busies your

mind. Talk with someone that you really love and feel comfortable with

and tell him/her what’s in your heart and mind. Play some sports like

yoga, it will make you feel calm and relaxed. Watch funny videos and

pranks because laughing is a really good thing for the heart. The most

useful thing is reading the Holy Quran, you will feel comfortable and in

heaven close to God.

Well, I have to stop writing because I have an exam tomorrow and I

have to study hard. Write back soon!

Love,

Hanan

Dear Noor,

Hi! How are you dear? I miss you too. I still remember my last visit to

your country. I am fine, what about you? I hope everything is going well.

I am writing to give you some advice regarding your visit to Bahrain in

order to have an unforgettable time. Are you ready?

The first advice that absolutely jumped to my mind is buying a sun-

block because the sun here is unbearable. Also, the temperature here

is mainly high and never goes below 38 so, you need to bring light

cotton clothes. Moreover, when arriving to Bahrain Airport, make sure

you rent a car. Bahrain is so beautiful and has wonderful places to visit.

You won’t feel bored, I promise.

The best thing about your visit is that you will attend my cousin’s

wedding. You will have the chance to see a traditional Bahraini

wedding. Therefore, do not forget to bring an antique gown. For the

hinna and jalsa nights. Don’t worry, we will go to Manama souq. There

you will find colorful traditional Bahraini customs. I remember once you

told me that you want to try our food. There are a lot of restaurants

which serve traditional food. So, don’t forget to go to Farmers’ Market

in Budaiya. You will be astonished by the beauty of our nature.

Moreover, to have fun, there are many choices like Lost Paradise. It is

really a great water park. You will enjoy it I promise. Finally, to learn

about Bahrain’s rich history, you should go to Bahrain museum in

Manama. There is a very interesting collection which will thrill you.

That’s all for now, I have to go because I have to clean my room. I can’t

wait for your visit. I am so excited.

Best wishes,

Kawther
