SIR FRANCIS DRAKE - 15721. Two Ships and 73 Men.2. Drake (of England) raids port cities in the

Spanish Main and takes 60,000 lbs. of silver. Spanish Main: Waters off the northern coast

of South America.

3. King Philip II of Spain protests to England.4. Queen Elizabeth of England stalls and does

nothing to Drake.

SIR FRANCIS DRAKE - 15771. Drake plans to raid Spanish port cities on

the west coast of South America.2. However, he loses all but one of his ships

in bad storms.3. The Golden Hind (Drake’s flagship) he

continues and successfully raids the Spanish port cities.

warships) come after Drake.5. Drake sails around the world to avoid capture.6. Upon Drake’s return to England (1580), he is

in the Spanish Navy) plan to land their army in England.

galleons to prevent the Spanish invasion.C. England blasts with long range cannons

and sends burning ships into the Armada.
