Material:

crochet hook size 2.5

Catania wool from Schachenmayr in the colors green, yellow, black, pink, purple

fiberfill

2 small buttons for the diving vest

transparent plastic material, I used the plastic material of a cotton swab box

2 Safety Eyes 12 mm/ 0.47 inches

sewing needle

glue

Size:

The frog has a height of 20 cm/ 7,87 inches

Abbreviations:

ch - chain

st - stitch

R - round or row

sc – single crochet

Number x sc – the number tells you how many times you make a single crochet

(or a dc, hdc …) in each stitch

inc - make two single crochet in one stitch

dec - two stitches crochet together with a sc

hdc – half double crochet

dc – double crochet

3dcinc – make three double crochet in one stitch

sl st - slip stitch

sc with color change: change the color on this sc (when you make this single crochet stitch, grab

the new color of your wool and pull it through the two loops on your hook).

BLO – back loops only

Note:

Unless indicated otherwise, parts are worked in rounds for the frog. You can start with 2 ch or

make a magic ring. It is important to mark the beginning of your round. Start to make the arms

first, because they will be crocheted to the body.

For crocheting the mouth you need a little bit of green wool for 2 rows:

This is only important if you have just one skein of green wool available.

This is the ending edge, it is where you closed the

opening with 13 x sc.

He looks so funny, when he moves his eyes!

Sew two buttons to the front of the vest.

To fix the diving tank to the vest you need to make two chains. Take

two threads and make a chain with about 16 x ch.

Pull the chains through the holes of the vest and close them with a

sl st. Please check, how many stitches you need, so that the diving tank

fits good inside and it is not too big or small.

Diving mask You need a piece of plastic for the diving mask. I searched in my household and found a transparent plastic box with cotton swabs inside. Look around, I’m sure you will find many different packaging’s suitable for the diving mask. Draw the shape to your plastic material, you can see in the picture below, and cut it out. If you crochet with wool by Schachenmayr Catania, you can use the same size, otherwise you have to enlarge or reduce the glasses.

The surrounding for the diving mask is crocheted in rows 1. Take yellow wool and make a chain in the length of the outside dimensions of the mask. I made 46 chains. But because some of you crochet tighter or looser, you have to check how many stitches you need. 2. Starting in the second ch from hook, and make 45 x sc, ch, turn, 3. BLO: 45 x sc, cut the thread and sew it. Then glue this crochet piece around the plastic material.
