1 / 22 Engineering Athena SWAN Student Survey Page 1 Welcome to the School of Engineering Postgraduate Survey The aim of this survey is to help the School of Engineering understand how male and female postgraduates experience their work environment and what, if any, improvements may be needed to ensure equality of opportunity. The survey is designed for School of Engineering PhD students (henceforth referred to as PGs) and explores your experience, knowledge and views on how the School promotes and manages gender equality. It focuses on seven areas: a) Training & Learning b) Career Development c) Workplace Culture d) Leadership & Management e) Reputation and Social Responsibility f) Outreach g) Improving Work Culture Your responses will contribute to improvements within the School, benefiting everyone who works and studies here, and will be used in the application for accreditation within the Athena SWAN award scheme. The survey consists of 54 multiple choice and short answer questions and should take less than 20 minutes of your time.
