Course Home Page

When you are logged on to the platform, you begin on the ‘Home’ page. The home page is where all the course tiles are located. The tiles can either be available in a traditional view or can be organised into groups on a rotating carousel.

You can always return to the home page by pressing the icon.

The course tiles listed can be filtered by pressing the icon and selecting from the various course statuses q.

Navigating with Carousels

When courses have been grouped by an administrator, each group will be displayed on a single-line rotating carousel if there are more courses than can be displayed on a single page.

Left and Right arrows at each end of the row rotate the carousel w.

Courses ‘In Progress’ are brought to the beginning of the carousel and ‘Completed’ courses are moved to the end. This enables you to access the active courses quicker.

Course Tile Data

On the course tile, the header bar will display the course title along with a relevant image. On the footer bar, the current course status (In Progress, Not Attempted, Completed etc) is displayed with a relevant icon. Within the stopwatch icon is the expected duration of the course; the information icon will display further information on the course.

The further information screen e will show a full description of the course, display icons to advise which devices the course is configured to work with, and show any accreditation awarded to the course.

On separate tabs r, the learner can view any previous History or Interactions they have had with this course.

2.3

Compatibility Warnings

When the Home Page is initially loaded by Engage, various system checks are done to verify the Internet Browser’s ability to launch the courses. Should any course have an issue, an additional ‘Compatibility’ warning banner will be displayed. When the warning banner is selected, further information will be displayed to help you.

The platform will try and help you resolve these issues as the course loads. For example, should a course require the Flash plugin to be enabled, then an action button is displayed that, when pressed, will enable the plugin for you.

Curriculum Tiles

A curriculum is a programme of courses/modules/assessments that have been connected for you to achieve a single accreditation. Curriculum tiles can be identified by the icon on the footer bar. A progress bar is also visible to indicate your progress through the combined units.

When a curriculum tile is pressed, a separate landing page is displayed from which the learner has access to each part of the curriculum. This page displays the course tiles in the same way as on the home page.

A RETURN TO HOME button t will close this page and return you to the home page. A progress bar is visible in the same way as on the main curriculum tile.
