View in your browser ENewsletter Autumn 2016 Rescue missions to the 7 Most Endangered 2016 Heritage and financial experts from Europa Nostra and the European Investment Bank Institute went on mission to the archaeological site of Ererouyk and the village of Anipemza in Armenia in July; to Patarei Sea Fortress in Tallinn in Estonia as well as to the Kampos of Chios in Greece in September. Two other sites, Colbert Swing Bridge in Dieppe in France and Helsinki-Malmi Airport in Finland, were visited already in June. In the coming months we plan to hold working meetings related to the Convent of St. Anthony of Padua in Extremadura in Spain and the Ancient city of Hasankeyf and its surroundings in Turkey. Along with the representatives from the organisations that nominated the sites, the European experts have met, and will meet, with national, regional and local stakeholders to mobilise them and encourage them to join forces in saving these endangered gems of Europe’s cultural heritage. The key findings and recommendations of all missions will be published in reports at the beginning of 2017. Read more

Preparing for the European Yearof Cultural Heritage 2018The EC proposal for the European Year of CulturalHeritage 2018 (published on 30 August), is expected tobe adopted by the Council and the European Parliamentby the end of this year. This proposal, which refers toEuropa Nostra as one of the key stakeholders consultedin the process, sends a strong signal to both policy-makers and citizens that cultural heritage matters forEurope’s future. Europa Nostra, in cooperation withGerman Cultural Heritage Committee - DNK will hold apublic debate on the Year on 10 November, during itsmeetings at the Denkmal Fair in Leipzig. Read more
