Prayer for the week

Psalm 121: I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes fromthe Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Allage chapel, Founders service, 10am, School Uniform

With the final GCSE exam fast approaching next week, the pupils are to be congratulated for keepingthe momentum going. If this good weather continues they will be able to recover and be out and aboutenjoying the sunshine.

Our athletes enjoyed success at the District Athletics Championships on Thursday, with both the year8 boys & girls becoming district champions. We didn’t win the overall trophy (sixth year in a row if wehad), however all our athletes are to be applauded for their hard work and worthy achievements.Details of individual results can be found on the school website.

I hope you will be able to join us on Saturday for the PSA Fete as a fun day is sure to be had by all. Aswell as many stalls and attractions to entertain you, this year both I and Miss Barton will be in thestocks. So for those of you who are inclined, this will be the one and only opportunity to wet spongeboth the outgoing and incoming heads of the school!

The Georgian Association will also be joining in the fun with the Georgians vs School XI cricket match. So if you are a past pupil then why not come along to watch the match and enjoy some refreshmentsat the Georgians gazebo. On Sunday morning the Founders Thanksgiving Service will take place inthe Chapel followed by the AGM. This year we are happy to be joined by Ned Nash, a Georgian who

has just celebrated his 100th birthday.

News and Events

With the House Sailing Regatta, some of our pupils taking part in the London School’s SkiChampionship and Father’s Day on Sunday as well, it will certainly be a busy weekend for us all.

You may remember last week I mentioned that a good number of our pupils were undertaking thesacrament of confirmation at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Harpenden; photos from this can beviewed on the school website.

Have a wonderful weekend.

In recent weeks across the country there has been a significant increase in reported cases ofMumps among adolescents and young adults.

Mumps is a viral illness that is spread by coughs and sneezes or close contact with someone whoalready has the infection.

Older children, teenagers and young adults who have never previously had MMR vaccine or haveonly had one dose of it, should contact their GP surgery to arrange to catch up with outstandingdoses. Those who have already had one dose of MMR vaccine as a young child will only need onefurther dose, no matter how long ago a first dose was given.

It is never too late to have the vaccine if you haven’t had two doses.

If you would like more information about MMR please visitwww.nhs.uk/conditions/vaccinations/pages/mmrvaccine.aspx
