    Project: Kogen Zagore Ltd., v. of Yastrebovo, Stara Zagora Region

    Execution Period: 2009 - 2011

    Description: Risk Engineering Ltd. is investor, designer, supplier, constructor, erector, and owner of the plant. The plant is designed to operate along with the canned vegetable factory, which is the main consumer of steam and hot water, and the electricity generated shall be sold at the free market.

  • In addition to the plant Risk Engineering Ltd. constructed its own Automated Gas Control Station (AGCS).

    Kogen Zagore Ltd. is constructed on a module principle: motor– generator– steam boiler – transformer.

    Two modules are ready at this stage, and space is envisaged for extension with one more module.

    The electric power of each of the two modules is 3 MWе, steam generation 2.3 t/h with t=143°C, and hot water 1.3 MWth.

    The total efficiency of Kogen Zagore Ltd. is 86%.

  • For this project execution Risk Engineering Ltd. performed the following activities: Prefeasibility study and economic efficiency substantiation;

    Detailed design in the following parts: architectural, civil construction, engineering design, electrical, I&C, Fire Safety, Water Supply and Sewerage, Health and Safety Plan, and Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning;

    Designer’s supervision in all parts of the design;

    Construction of building foundations and foundations for the cogeneration modules;

    Packaged supply of process equipment;

    Installation of the procured equipment and process lines;

    Erecting three steel stacks 18 m high each.

    Production of part of the equipment by Bulgarian factories;

    Construction of an 80 m long steam line from the plant to the factory;

    Construction of a 400 m long own gas line;

    Preparation of as-built documentation and documentation for legalization.

  • General view of the plant – January 2011 General view of the site prior to construction start – March

  • Project: Cogreen Ltd., town of Parvomay

    Execution period: 2011 - 2012

    Description: The constructed cogeneration plant supplies hot water to a greenhouse complex, and the generated electricity is sold to the electric distribution network. The greenhouses are characterized by comparatively constant consumption of heat; the differences are compensated by thermal accumulators. The annual needs of heat are 8-9 months, which explains the economic effectiveness of the plant.

  • Risk Engineering Ltd. performed the following activities under the project:

    Detailed design in the following parts – architectural, civil construction, engineering design, I&C, Fire Safety, Water Supply and Sewerage, Health and Safety Plan, and HVAC;

    Designer’s supervision;

    Process equipment procurement;

    Installation of the whole procured process equipment and process lines;

    Production of part of the equipment by Bulgarian factories;

    Erection of air-intake shafts for fresh air for combustion and a ventilation system for the cogenerator compartment;

    Erection of gas ducts, including two steel stacks each 15 m high;

    Execution of field I&C;

    Project management.

  • The plant is constructed on a module principle – generator- motor- heat exchanger- stack. Two cogeneration modules are erected, each one with the electric capacity of 3,3 MWе, and thermal capacity - 3,34 MWth. The performance factor of the electrical part is 43,5%, and of the thermal part – 43,6%. The total performance factor of the plant is 87,1%. The process equipment was installed by a company owned by Risk Engineering Ltd.

  • General view of the plant after installation completion - March 2012.

    General view of the site prior to construction start – June 2011

  • Project: Multi-Type Hospital -Targovishte JSC, town of Targovishte

    Execution period: 2007 – 2008

    Description: Turn-key project for a Combined Heat/Electricity Production Plant with the installed electric power up to 300 kW and the efficiency of fuel energy utilization over 80%, and feasibility for further extension by one module for cold generation.

  • Stage 4: Check out and start up of the system; 72-hour tests, signing Form 16 for putting into operation.

    At the Targovishte Multi-Type Hospital a cogeneration module with combustion engine and natural gas as fuel was installed. The electrical power of the module is 104 kWe , and the corresponding thermal power - 160 kWth. The installation was performed by the installation company of Risk Engineering Ltd. The electric energy is supplied to the electric distribution network being able to operate in an “island” mode and cover priority needs in case of a power supply emergency loss. The thermal energy is used only for hot water supply for the company ‘s needs. For warranty and post-warranty maintenance of the module a contract with the vendor was concluded licensed to that end by the module manufacturer. The module will be in operation the whole year through, but there will be no necessity to use steam boiler in the summer time for hot water supply.

    Stage 5: Training of the operating personnel.
