Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said that Israel would not agree to a cease-fire until its two soldiers were liberated and Hezbollah was disarmed HoweverIsrael did accept the ceasefire even though she did not get her soldiers back andHezbollah was not disarmed As a result o this ailure Olmert is weakened andmany question i his government can survive

Furthermore the 4000 rocket attacks on northern Israel shocked the nationPrior to the war Olmertrsquos realignment plan had enjoyed the support o a major-ity o Israelis Now the thought o Iranian-made rockets in the hands o Hamaswithin range o el Aviv Jerusalem and every major Jewish population centerhas made withdrawal rom the West Bank totally unacceptable As a result Ol-

mert has been orced to announce that unilateral withdrawal the main plank inhis governments program is no longer on the table

Te most critical impact of the war on the future is the stationing of in-ternational troops all along Israelrsquos northern border I they are successul insecuring the peace there it could certainly set a precedent or establishing inter-national troops between Israel and the Palestinians when final borders betweenthe two are determined It will also seem logical to place the emple Mountunder UN supervision when the status o Jerusalem is finally dealt with Tisultimate outcome is prophesied in the Bible

eration not passing until God would return

which you refer I donrsquot believe the scrip-

tures mean what the proponents of this

teaching say they mean

The scripture is Matthew 2432-35

ldquoNow learn a parable of the g tree When

his branch is yet tender and putteth forth

leaves ye know that summer is nigh So

likewise ye when ye shall see all these

things know that it is near even at the

doors Verily I say unto you This generation

shall not pass till all these things be ful-

lled Heaven and earth shall pass away

but my words shall not pass awayrdquo

Some say that the g tree is Israel They

claim that the budding of the g tree is

the rebirth of Israel as a nation in 1948

For a while they taught that a generation

was 40 years However when the rapture

didnrsquot happen by 1988 some decided that

a generation was 70 years The fact is that

nothing in the Bible says that Israel is the

g tree Thatrsquos a made-up theory

What was Jesus really saying He simply

said that when we see a tree budding we

know that summer is near Likewise when

we see the prophecies he gave us in Mat-

thew 24 beginning to come to pass then

know that that generation would not pass

until all things are fullled All these things

include the rapture Can we see these

things beginning to come to pass now

Yes We can see preparations being made

for the building of Israelrsquos temple for the

sharing of the Temple Mount and for the

time of tribulation in the West Bank Are we

then the generation that will see the Sec-

ond Coming I believe we are

of Rome commissioned the writing of a book

entitled ldquoMankind at the Turning Pointrdquo In

this book the world was divided up into ten

regions The area of the North American

Union (Canada the US and Mexico) was

one of those regions The theory was that

each of these regions could unite economi-

cally and then the ten regions could merge

into one global economic union

It appears that the North American Union

is following this blueprint put forward by the

Club of Rome thirty years ago If this is the

case then this is world government in the

making I tend to believe this is true since

part of the North American Union plan is to

defend the exterior border of all three na-

tions combined not the exterior border of

the United States

The tremendous outcry concerning the

defense of US borders may be forcing the

government to change its approach Time

will tell

I wanted to ask you about the dragon who was attempting to destroy the male

child born from the woman with the wings of an eagle I cannot make sense of

this piece of prophecy but last night while reading I was really trying to get my

mind around this I have referred back to Ezekiel Isaiah and Daniel to get anidea The whole scenario is set up in Revelation 1213 My personal take on

this is that this would be somehow related to the US and that is about all that

I can understand

woman is Israel The twelve stars around her head represent the twelve tribes

of Israel This same imagery was used to depict the nation of Israel in the

dream of Joseph (Genesis 379)

The child that was born which the devil tried to destroy was Jesus Herod theGreat attempted to kill Jesus as a baby by killing all of the male children two

years of age and down in the area of Bethlehem Ultimately Jesus was caught

up to God and His throne just like the scripture says Satan then went to make

war with the woman Israel

The prophecy then makes a quantum leap forward In Revelation 127 there

is a war in heaven Satan and his angels ght against the armies of heaven

led by Michael the archangel Satan is then banished from access to heaven

where until this time he has been the accuser of the brethren In Revelation

1210 a loud voice said ldquoNow is come salvation and strength and the king-

dom of our God and the power of his Christ for the accuser of our brethren

is cast down which accused them before our God day and nightrdquo This takes

place three and one-half years before the Second Coming

We know this because verse 12 says ldquoTherefore rejoice ye heavens and ye that dwell in them Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea for

the devil is come down unto you having great wrath because he knoweth that

he hath but a short timerdquo Satan then persecutes the woman (Israel) for time

times and half a timemdashthree and one-half years This speaks of the time of the

great tribulation n

ARMAGEDDON

Te Battle o Armageddon is reerred tomany times in scripture However theterm ldquoArmageddonrdquo is only used once in

the entire Bible It is ound in Revelation1612-16

And the sixth angel poured out his vialupon the great river Euphrates and thewater thereof was dried up that the wayof the kings of the east might be prepared

And I saw three unclean spirits like frogscome out of the mouth of the dragon andout of the mouth of the beast and out ofthe mouth of the false prophet For theyare the spirits of devils working miracleswhich go forth unto the kings of the earthand of the whole world to gather themto the battle of that great day of God Al-

mighty Behold I come as a thief Blessedis he that watcheth and keepeth his gar-ments lest he walk naked and they seehis shame And he gathered them togetherinto a place called in the Hebrew tongue

ArmageddonIn this passage it states that the ldquokings

o the eastrdquo will invade Israel at Arma-geddon Zechariah 142-4 says that ldquoallnationsrdquo will be gathered against Jeru-salem at Armageddon Both o theseprophecies are correct

Tere are approximately 192 na-

tions on earth For each o them to havetroops in the land o Israel or the Battleo Armageddon is not even easible Buta world community orce representingall the nations o the world would ulfillboth passages

When President George HW Bushwent against Iraq in 1991 he assembleda coalition o twenty-nine nations tofight against Iraq under the UN flag Hesaid at the time that the war was not theUS against Iraq It was Saddam Husseinagainst the world Te coalition orceswere there to enorce a UN resolutionand thus were there as the orces o theworld community

It will be the same at ArmageddonA coalition o nations rom the east will

volunteer to invade Israel under the au-thority o a UN resolution Some o those

nations are named in Ezekiel 38 Amongthem are Russia Iran urkey Libya andEthiopia

PROPHECY 1

Te final seven years will begin when theAntichrist and the international com-munity give their support to Israelrsquos rightto exist in the land promised to Abrahamby God Tis is called the confirmation

Te West Bank in Israel will becomea place o great tribulation three andone-hal years beore Armageddon

Israelrsquos temple will be built on theemple Mount

Both Revelation 11 and 2 Tessa-lonians 2 explicitly say that a templewill be standing on the emple Mountduring the 42 months o the greattribulation

In Revelation 111-2 (see textabove) John is told to measure thetemple Obviously you canrsquot measurea temple that doesnrsquot exist

A world government will dominate the world orthree and one-hal years prior to Armageddon

Te beast in this passage reers to the Anti-christ himsel Notice that he will devour thewhole earth In verse 25 o Daniel 7 we are toldthat his reign will continue or a time times andthe dividing o time Tis is prophetic terminol-ogy or three and one-hal years We know thisbecause the same prophecy is given in Revelation135 amp 7

But what about here in the United States With respect to a police statewhere are we and where are we going

Let me make a ew observationsOur government already keeps close tabs on just about everything we do and

requires official permission or nearly all o our activitiesOne might take a look at our Capitol or any evidence o a police state We

see barricades metal detectors police military soldiers at times dogs IDbadges required or every move vehicles checked at airports and through-out the Capitol Te people are totally disarmed except or the police and thecriminals But worse yet surveillance cameras in Washington are everywhereto ensure our saety

Te terrorist attacks only provided the cover or the do-gooders who havebeen planning or a long time beore last September to monitor us ldquoor our owngoodrdquo Cameras are used to spy on our drug habits on our kids at school on

subway travelers and on visitors to every government building or park Terersquosnot much evidence o an open society in Washington DC yet most olks do notcomplain- anything goes i itrsquos or government-provided saety and security

I this huge amount o inormation and technology is placed in the hands othe government to catch the bad guys one naturally asks Whatrsquos the big dealBut it should be a big deal because it eliminates the enjoyment o privacy that aree society holds dear Te personal inormation o law-abiding citizens can beused or reasons other than saety- including political reasons Like gun controlpeople control hurts law-abiding citizens much more than the law-breakers

Social Security numbers are used to monitor our daily activities Te numbersare given at birth and then are needed when we die and or everything in be-tween Tis allows government record keeping o monstrous proportions andaccommodates the thugs who would steal othersrsquo identities or criminal purpos-es Tis invasion o privacy has been compounded by the technology now avail-able to those in government who enjoy monitoring and directing the activities o

others Loss o personal privacy was a major problem long beore 911Centralized control and regulations are required in a police state Commu-

nity and individual state regulations are not as threatening as the monolith o

rules and regulations written by Congressand the ederal bureaucracy Law and orderhas been ederalized in many ways and weare moving inexorably in that direction

Almost all o our economic activities de-pend upon receiving the proper permitsrom the ederal government ransactionsinvolving guns ood medicine smokingdrinking hiring firing wages politicallycorrect speech land use fishing huntingbuying a house business mergers and acqui-sitions selling stocks and bonds and arm-

ing all require approval and strict regulationrom our ederal government I this is notdone properly and in a timely ashion eco-nomic penalties and even imprisonment arelikely consequences

Because government pays or much o ourhealth care itrsquos conveniently argued that anyhabits or risk-taking that could harm onersquoshealth are the prerogative o the ederal gov-ernment and are to be regulated by explicitrules to keep medical-care costs down Tissame argument is used to require helmets orriding motorcycles and bikes

Not only do we need a license to drive butwe also need special belts bags buzzers seatsand environmentally dictated speed limits-or a policemen will be pulling us over to levya fine and he will be toting a gun or sure

Te states do exactly as theyrsquore told by theederal government because they are threat-ened with the loss o tax dollars being re-turned to their state- dollars that should havenever been sent to DC in the first place letalone used to extort obedience to a powerulederal government

Over 80000 ederal bureaucrats now car-ry guns to make us toe the line and to enorcethe thousands o laws and tens o thousandso regulations that no one can possibly under-

stand We donrsquot see the guns but we all knowtheyrsquore there and we all know we canrsquot fightldquoCity Hallrdquo especially i itrsquos ldquoUncle Samrdquo

All 18-year-old males must register to beready or the next undeclared war I theydonrsquot men with guns will appear and enorcethis congressional mandate ldquoInvoluntaryservituderdquo was banned by the 13th Amend-ment but courts donrsquot apply this prohibitionto the servitude o drafees or those citizensrequired to ollow the dictates o the IRS- es-pecially the employers o the country whoserve as the ederal governmentrsquos chie taxcollectors and inormation gatherers Fear is

the tool used to intimidate most Americansto comply to the tax code by making exam-ples o celebrities Leona Helmsley and Wil-lie Nelson know how this process works

Economic threats against business estab-lishments are notorious Rules and regula-tions rom the EPA the ADA the SEC theLRB OSHA etc terrorize business ownersinto submission and those charged accepttheir own guilt until they can prove them-selves innocent O course it turns out itrsquosmuch more practical to admit guilt and paythe fine Tis serves the interest o the au-thoritarians because it firmly establishes justwho is in charge

Inormation leaked rom a governmentagency like the FDA can make or break acompany within minutes I inormation is

leaked even inadvertently a company can bedestroyed and individuals involved in reveal-ing government-monopolized inormationcan be sent to prison Even though economiccrimes are serious offenses in the UnitedStates violent crimes sometimes evoke moresympathy and ewer penalties Just look atthe OJ Simpson case as an example

Efforts to convict Bill Gates and others likehim o an economic crime are astoundingconsidering his contribution to economicprogress while sources used to screen out

terrorist elements rom our midst are tragi-cally useless I business people are oundguilty o even the suggestion o collusion inthe marketplace huge fines and even impris-onment are likely consequences

Price fixing is impossible to achieve in a reemarket Under todayrsquos laws talking to or con-sulting with competitors can be easily con-strued as ldquoprice fixingrdquo and involve a seriouscrime even with proo that the so-called col-lusion never generated monopoly-controlledprices or was detrimental to consumers

Lawully circumventing taxes even salestaxes can lead to serious problems i a high-profile person can be made an example

One o the most onerous controls placedon American citizens is the control o speechthrough politically correct legislationDerogatory remarks or off-color jokes are

justification or firings demotions andthe destruction o political careers Temovement toward designating penaltiesbased on the category to which victimsbelong rather the nature o the crime itselhas the thought police patrolling the airwaysand byways Establishing relative rights andspecial penalties or subjective motivation isa dangerous trend

All our financial activities are subject to

ldquolegalrdquo searches without warrants and with-out probable cause ax collection drug us-age and possible terrorist activities ldquojustiyrdquothe endless accumulation o inormation onall Americans

Government control o medicine hasprompted the establishment o the NationalMedical Data Bank For efficiency reasons itis said the government keeps our medical re-cords or our benefit Tis o course is donewith vague and useless promises that thisinormation will always remain confidential-

just like all the FBI inormation in the pastPersonal privacy the sine qua non o lib-

erty no longer exists in the United StatesRuthless and abusive use o all this inorma-tion accumulated by the government is yet tocome Te Patriot Act has given unbelievablepower to listen read and monitor all ourtransactions without a search warrant beingissued afer affirmation o probably causeldquoSneak and peakrdquo and blanket searches arenow becoming more requent every dayWhat have we allowed to happen to the 4thamendment

It may be true that the average Americandoes not eel intimidated by the encroach-ment o the police state Irsquom sure our citizensare more tolerant o what they see as mere

nuisances because they have been deludedinto believing all this government supervi-sion is necessary and helpul- and besides

they are living quite comortably materialwise However the reaction will be differentonce all this new legislation wersquore passingcomes into ull orce and the material com-orts that sofen our concerns or govern-ment regulations are decreased Tis attitudethen will change dramatically but the trendtoward the authoritarian state will be diffi-cult to reverse

What government gives with one hand- asit attempts to provide saety and security- itmust at the same time take away with two

others When the majority recognizes thatthe monetary cost and the results o our waragainst terrorism and personal reedoms area lot less than promised it may be too late

Irsquom sure all my concerns are unconvincingto the vast majority o Americans who notonly are seeking but also are demanding theybe made sae rom any possible attack romanybody ever I grant you this is a reasonablerequest

Te point is however there may be a muchbetter way o doing it We must rememberwe donrsquot sit around and worry that someCanadian citizen is about to walk into NewYork City and set off a nuclear weapon Wemust come to understand the real reason isthat therersquos a difference between the Canadi-ans and all our many riends and the Islamicradicals And believe me wersquore not the targetbecause wersquore ldquoree and prosperousrdquo

Te argument made or more governmentcontrols here at home and expansionismoverseas to combat terrorism is simple andgoes like this ldquoI wersquore not made sae rompotential terrorists property and reedomhave no meaningrdquo It is argued that first wemust have lie and physical and economic se-curity with continued abundance then wersquolltalk about reedom

It reminds me o the time I was solicitingpolitical support rom a voter and was boldlyput down ldquoRonrdquo she said ldquoI wish you wouldlay off this reedom stuff itrsquos all nonsenseWersquore looking or a Representative who willknow how to bring home the bacon and helpour area and yoursquore not that personrdquo Believeme I understand that argument itrsquos just thatI donrsquot agree that is what should be motivat-ing us here in the Congress

Tatrsquos not the way it works Freedom doesnot preclude security Making security thehighest priority can deny prosperity and stillail to provide the saety we all want
