Unit 2: PERFORMANCE

3) Fill in the grid by giving examples of a time when you did each of the

following PLTS. (10 marks)

PLTS YOUR EXAMPLE & EXPLANATIONA time when you invited feedback to your work and you responded well to criticism, praise or a setback

When we first created our celeb and fanatic scene, we weren’t sure whether it was all right or not, so we got feedback from other classmates.

A time when you gave constructive support and feedback to someone in the group

When Shapla one of the actors in my group performance didn’t know what to do I gave her advice about how her she should be like and what she should act like. (Ideas so she could develop her character.

A time when you showed fairness and consideration to others in the group

When we pitched ideas on how we could improve our group scene, we all took each of our ideas into consideration and used tried to combine all our ideas to be fair and work as a team.

A time when you had to change an idea because of circumstances

In our group scene we had so many ideas bunched into one little scene and it became too long and people (classmates) said that it dragged on a little bit. So we then had to work as a group to decide what things we needed to cut and what parts to keep.

A time when you combined your idea with the idea of others

When Alberta and I created a pair performance we both had separate ideas and approaches on developing a performance so what we decided to do is to combine our ideas to create a successful piece.

A time when you identified a problem that needed to be solved or a question that the group needed to answer.

When two other classmates had to join our group performance (Shapla and Saddiquea). They joined in too late when we had already created basically everything and were on the verge of finishing our performance so we had to include them around our scene so we had to go back to the drawing board and decide how we could include them into our group performance. We had done this by giving them new characters such as a new fanatic and a PA.

A time when you agreed with a decision and you gave good reasons for agreeing.

In our group scene when Sabrina suggested the I would be a ‘Fanatic’ who will be obsessed over the celebrity ‘Victoria Beckham’ as she fits our character profile perfectly.

and extension of the piece you have already written.

- Who might have owned the pot?

- Was it precious to one or more people? Why?

- Did it cause a conflict between two or more people?

(20 marks)

B) Evaluate your pot.

- Explain how you made it step-by-step

- To what extent does it meet the standard you aimed for? Explain

- How does it compare with the work of professionals you studied?

- What could you have done to improve it?

- Explain whether the pot tells the story you wanted it to.

1. Explain what contribution you have made to the performance during the period from when your group started planning and researching to the present time.

I think that I have made a large contribution to the whole performance by giving ideas on what to do and what should be includes in the mime performance. For example, I help create our miniature pair scenes and helped develop it. I also contributed many ideas on what we could do for our main scene and structure it together. Again we needed to reduce the time in our scene; I contributed ideas in which we followed through with. As well as that, I made contribution to what should go on between each scene.

During the making process of it all I made a storyboard so we could remember what went where and could refer back to it when necessary. I also helped on planning some of the rehearsals and trying to work through other student’s pre-planned schedules (timetables for other lessons) to come to some agreement. When the rehearsals was due I tried to find our group a free classroom to rehears our performances.

Since I am a choreographer and a dancer I volunteered to create various dance sequences for part of the bus scene. I did this with the help of my colleagues. For our group scene, me and two other of my class mates created our own props (banners or fan posters) that we needed for the opening scene. We made our prop during lesson time in the art classrooms in order to make good use of it. To promote the show we made posters to put around the school. This was one of our ideas on promoting our show.

My attendance to all the rehearsal has good as I have not missed any of them. This is because I know that hey are very important. I have tried my hardest on carrying out my duties and trying to meet all of my deadlines. How ever I do think that I could have improved on meeting my deadlines. A lot of alterations have had to be done to our performance as a whole and I have pitched as many ideas as I can. Not all of my ideas were taken on board but many of them were.

In order to ensure safety for everyone I our groups, I have been sensible when doing things and we have all worked together as a team.

2. Evaluate you contribution to the performance.

I think I have done well in trying to be creative with the things that we do as in making up the scenes and actually putting them to the test.My areas of improvement I would say would be meeting deadlines with getting our sound and making props. I could say that I could have improved the timing.

7

Page 8: End Of Year Examination

I don’t think that I have worked at a level in which they would in the creative and media industry because the standards are a lot higher and the employer in that profession will be a lot stricter and tougher on meeting deadlines and other things like punctuality.
