You will land at the airport in San Cristobal where the customs agents will take your TCC and put it in your passport for your visit as they will need it again when you leave the islands. Here, you will also have to pay your entrance to the Galapagos National Park and your baggage will be checked for any living organisms that could alter the archipelago’s ecosystem.

Your driver will be waiting outside the airport to take you to your hotel in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno.

You will have the afternoon to explore Puerto Baquerizo Moreno on your own. You could visit the Interpretation Center to learn more about the archipelago or Cerro Las Tijeretas nearby where a large population of frigate birds live and nest.

The Galapagos Archipelago was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1978. Of the 21 islands, only 4 are inhabited. The archipelago hosts 560 endemic plant species, 17 species of mammals, 152 bird species, 22 reptiles, and close to 2000 invertebrates.
