    t Orgacure started 2012 in Rotterdam to fight food waste without compromising

    safety, health, taste and convenience.

    From the start the focus laid on

    perishable foods and fruits and

    vegetables in particular, originating for

    most of the food waste.

    To improve marketability and shelf-life

    Properties

    Orgacure is a white, non-toxic and

    easily soluble, effervescent powder. Wash

    solution has a lower than neutral pH and

    is instant ready for washing fruits and

    vegetables.

    Intended use

    Orgacure is intended for pathogen

    reduction in whole and cut fruits and

    vegetables process- and washing water

    only and is not to be used for other types

    of food, e.g. breads or cheeses.

    Orgacure can be utilized on produce

    intended for raw consumption or further

    processing.

    Batch preparation

    1. Use fresh water to dissolve the

    product. Water temperature is ideally

    between 4 C to 25 C (39 F - 77 F).

    2. Use 700 gram Orgacure for every

    100 liters of water [0.7 %, 7,000 ppm].

    2. Consult the table beside for different

    units of measurement. The powder

    should readily dissolve with some

    bubbling. Although usually not

    necessary, gently agitation or stirring

    will aid in dissolving.

    3. The pH of the solution should be 5.0

    +/- 0.1. Add more Orgacure if the pH

    is above 5.0. No solid particles should

    be left in the solution. The solution is

    now ready to use. During operation,

    control the pH level with a pH meter or

    measure periodically. Add more

    Orgacure if necessary to adjust pH

    to required level, which should be 5.0

    +/- 0.1.

    Continuous system

    1. The initial solution is to be prepared

    identically as in the batch system.

    2. Track the pH as with the batch

    system. Add more Orgacure when

    necessary to adjust pH to required

    level.

    3. If automated dosage system used it

    need to be operated according to

    Orgacure manual.

    Notes

    With most common produce, for optimal

    results, washing time should be at least

    60 seconds and maximal 3 minutes.

    The produce should be submerged

    completely.

    Irrespectively of the processing method

    being utilized, the process water should

    be renewed each day.

    Results may vary according to type of

    produce being processed and prior

    processing steps e.g. cutting, peeling etc.

    Although Orgacure is considered non-

    toxic, the powder can cause irritation

    during handling or dissolving. Solutions of

    Orgacure made according to prescribed

    procedures are safe to handle.
