Our is a long story, made up of people, ideas and industrial adventures. A story that starts in the 1957, when Dilvio De Marco, now the president of the company, begins his training as a metal sheet worker in ITCA, an ancient Turin company. After five years he moves to Carrozzeria Bertone to join in Munich the prototype department of BMW. Here he realizes the 2002 model, the Serie 3 forerunner.

These are years of great development for the automotive industry, and De Marco chooses to seize the challenge in first person: in a small warehouse in the west Turin area he sets up the Martelleria De Marco, in which he deals with every operation, partly manually, partly with hammers and Eckold machines. Ten years later, the company is grown: changes its name into De Marco srl and moves to its present headquarter. It’s the opportunity to give concreteness to a new working method: in a few months new machines were bought in order to support manual works, and begins the construction of prototype modules.

But the 1996 is the year of great changes: the laser for the cut of pressed parts gives a decisive evolution to work phases; besides, a new generation of manager joins the company: Riccardo and Gloria De Marco, the founder’s son and daughter; they really take care of the development of the family reality that in the meantime has become an SpA.

One year later comes the technical office which provides the service for the CAD design of the dies, and from here the technical evolution continues until today with the introduction of new solutions for the design and production, including computer simulation and laser scanning for testing and reverse engineering.

there isn’t any real quality without some attention to what surrounds us. we always believe it, and because of this our Environmental management system foresees concrete measures to allow a completely sustainable development.

Only recyclable dies

For our molds we don’t use resin at all, but only steel, cast iron and Zamak and cerro tru alloys, simply recyclable and therefore eco-friendly. In particular, alloys are melt again in our production area and always reused.

Waste’s cycle management

Every steel, stainless steel and aluminum scraps are sent to recycle.consumables materials as tatters, work gloves and oils are disposed of, by specialized and certified providers.In our company we actively support different salvage dumps and the disposal printers toner.

the FEa software autoform allows to evalue part’s feasibility during drawing and to analyze springback after laser cutting. that last analysis allows to pumper the dies already in the planning stage and therefore to obtain a finished part with the volumes within the tolerances required by the customer, without doing long and expensive manual recovery operations.these benefits are amplified using high strength metal sheet.

our specialized panel beater technicians can used:- 2 panel beater machines Eckold- 3 fixed spot welders up to 100 kw- 3 hanging spot welding with two with two tongs to 25 kw- sheet metal shears - 2 for sheet benders - boellhoff riveting - nuts and screws assembly equipment, for profil, ribe, abc riveting

the slabs are jointed by a semi-tubolar riveting with accentuated hardness, in one and only phase without any preventive drilling, with not much noise and no one emissions. the rivet is designed to sink the top material, and it is often expanded through a nut’s pressure, that it’s positioned under the lower material layer, which isn’t perforated: in this way the junction is localized and impenetrable to gas and liquids.

during the measuring, the laser scan generates a point cloud that is compared to the cad piece’s surfaces; in this way it’s possible to obtain a color map that immediately points out every single mistake. It’s also possible to do a laser scan of a single drawn part, in order to evaluate the elastic return and decide whether to vary the press’s parameters during the pressing.

In our workshop we also realized the necessary dies for the pressing of sheet, emphasizing the use of recyclable alloys such as Zamak and cerru tru.

the storage of metal sheet is managed through a proprietary software that controls and follows each steps. by entry, the sheets are checked and catalogued, thereafter they are awarded to a specific batch. the software also bring up-to-date every working for each one customer and for every specific order.

the construction of large dimension parts such as cars or large vehicles’ sides needs a very elaborated work, which has to optimize costs, times and the final quality. our process is guaranteed by a careful verify of each phase and tested by a year’s experience.
