Job Description
Location
New York City Headquarters, with some travel to Afghanistan,
Timor, Haiti, Liberia andother locations.
Need
Reflecting an increased demand for IT within the organization -
PDT is looking for a full-time
IT Director and Strategist who will manage in-house systems,
existing IT products and
services, and cultivate and oversee the organizations broader IT
strategy.

Responsibilities and Duties
The IT Director and Strategist acts as a subject matter expert
and applies a high level ofexpertise, through business/technical
consultancy and hands-on project work, focusing onservice quality,
problem and recovery management, platform availability and
identifyingrisks.
For new solutions ensure achievable migration plans are in place
taking due considerationof existing service requirements; Share
expertise with less experienced team members,providing coaching as
appropriate.
Technical Skills
- Full knowledge of Drupal

- Coding of PHP- Server management using Apache web server and
SVN repositories- Operating in both a PC and Mac environment- A
wide knowledge of IT hardware, software, operations and
networks
Competencies
- Ability to control and prioritize several projects and
resources that vary in scale andcomplexity to meet changing
objectives
- Successful project management and an excellent knowledge of
the project lifecycle- Strong analytical, critical thinking and
problem solving skills.- Demonstrated writing and presentation
skills- Solution oriented with a drive to innovate- Willingness to
travel- Creativity a must
- An eye for design
Knowledge/Experience
- Undergraduate degree or post-graduate degree in Computer
Science, BusinessAdministration or a related field required
- Minimum 5 years of experience of which 3 years involved
projectmanagement/leadership
