Working Pattern: 19 day month

Total Remuneration: $90,325* - $102,804* *Total remuneration includes superannuation, as detailed below

Superannuation: Employer contribution of 15.25%

Annual Leave: 4 weeks annual leave, with leave loading

Long Service Leave: Long service leave applies after 10 years continuous service

POSITION PURPOSE (Why does this position exist)

• To perform a lead role in riverine flood risk management; • To ensure the timely delivery of the Stormwater System Management Plans; • To undertake stormwater modelling and provide technical advice regarding waterway management and stormwater system upgrades as required; • To support asset management practices in the drainage asset portfolio; • The Technical Services Team cares for our community. Flood risk management (local and riverine)

Provide advice on flood risk management in relation to the planning scheme and development applications

Develop policy and strategy to guide prioritisation of work programs to lower the flood risk of the community

Provide technical advice to guide flood response activities in the event of riverine flooding

Flood response activities are undertaken successfully

Floodplain management guidelines are implemented by December 2020

Deliver the Stormwater System Management Plans as required under the Urban Drainage Act 2013

Coordinate resources as necessary to ensure the timely delivery of SSMPs

Prepare required urban flood risk studies

Develop preferred mitigation options for identified high risk local flooding locations

SSMPs are complete by December 2019 as required by the UDA 2013

Undertake stormwater modelling

Undertake stormwater modelling to assist in the preparation, validation and prioritisation of drainage works

Ensure stormwater models are current and serviceable

Stormwater models are kept up to date

Manage consultants on behalf of Council to ensure efficient delivery of required services

Provide critical review of consultant services

Instruct consultants to ensure Council values are adhered to in project scoping and delivery

Consultant services are delivered efficiently and in a timely manner

Flood defence and drainage asset management

Actively contribute to the continuous improvement and maturity of asset management

Provide technical advice to ensure the appropriate management of high risk infrastructure

Ensure the flood defence system and infrastructure are managed appropriately and in accordance with legislation
